What would be a possible position in a Biden administration for Pete Buttigieg?

Last edited Mon Mar 2, 2020, 11:38 PM - Edit history (1)

My first thought is possibly Chief of Staff.

Any other thoughts?

Pete's resume is one that should be respected. It is not often that we get an eight language multi-linguist with relevant wartime military exposure who happens to have McKinsey & Company experience. Additionally, a two-term mayor is one of the best resume entries for a cabinet-level position. Mayors are front line politicians, unlike legislators who have the luxury of shifting accountability.

We need Pete, he's the future of our party. We need Amy, she's a leader in our party. Together we're unstoppable.

More importantly, it will give him the foreign policy experience for the next time he runs for POTUS. He is our future. We need to groom good leaders.

Had Pete not dropped out Joe wouldn't be in the position he is in. Pete also won IA and very close second in NH. Part of Joes win in VA was due to Pete who had a huge presence there. Pete was polling to win AR. Pete had a huge TN Nashville ground game. Pete had a big MA ground game. Pete was polling well in OK and had HUGE turn out in Denver.

Team Pete was on the phones banking for Joe the same night he dropped out converting Pete supporters into Biden supporters.

For someone with such a low resume and no experience, he certainly saved Joe's bacon.

So while you guys laugh and joke, take a moment and show some respect to a man who served our country, turned a "dying" city around in less than 8 years, and who's plans were rated #1 for showing a surplus budget while insuring everyone.

Or possibly other ambassadorships, but Cabinet positions? Not so much, even as much as we like him.

Sec of Defense or State is just ridiculous. Seriously, what are his qualifications for either? Because he was in the military or mayor of South Bend? Compare to the experience of a John Kerry or Hillary Clinton.

I think we'd be dangerously close to trump's playbook of hiring his unqualified minions for very important positions.

Again, don't get me wrong, I like Pete a lot. He's very intelligent and well-spoken. I'd like to see him run for prez again, after he gets some seasoning in the House or Senate.

I'd like Press Secretary because he is such a great communicator, but don't know how high a level of position that is?
