No way either one of them would take the VP spot.

(25,512 posts)In fact, some would turn on him, claiming he's a sellout for agreeing to a "deal" with the "establishment".
For that matter, I doubt Sanders would, either.

Just asked 10 Bernie supporters I know and they all think it's a great idea. Bernie supporters are not the enemy. Trump and the enabling Republicans are.

(945 posts)Sanders has too massive an ego to be the VP nominee and if he is at the top of the ticket we have the same problems that led to the consolidation of the moderate field. I can still see a Biden/Warren ticket. The only issue is Warren's age. Having two 70+ people on the same ticket is not a smart idea

(25,512 posts)You disagree? She's now a snake, a sellout, and part of the establishment. Krystal Ball says she's selling out for "gender tokenism".
Over at JPR, those clowns are busy calling her the "C" word.
My assertion stands. Many Sanders supporters - I quite clearly did not say all - will NEVER accept anything other than Bernie as president.

(7,947 posts)First, it's about who would be a good president if they had to fill in.
Second, it's about what voters the VP could bring into the booth that the P candidate might not get. And yeah, a woman could well bring in voters a little skeptical of either of the men.
Geography might matter too. (By that count, Warren wouldn't help much probably-- both B and S are northeasterners, and so is she. And Harris is from a state that will vote for the Dem anyway. Klobuchar, however....)
Often presidential candidates don't choose former rivals.

We're Democrats. Politics is NOT the most important thing. Governing well counts too, and that means a younger VP, and there are several good candidates for that.

(18,402 posts)She's been polling only around 25% (or less) in her home state. Any other candidate would suspend at that point, but she claims she's staying in to the end. That's okay with me, because it probably can only take votes away from Sanders. Or maybe it's a wash: takes away from both Biden and Sanders, in which case no effect at all.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
getagrip_already
(14,934 posts)If liz stays in, she will likely keep racking up delegates, albeit at a slow rate. That has the ability to deny sanders a 50+% convention position if for some reason he keeps racking up wins (not likely from here on).
That will make the convention go to a second vote. At that point, the unfledged delegates can vote and any committed delegates will be free to vote at will.
Bernie won't win there. Sure, his bots will threaten and intimidate and pull a trump to try to yell their way to victory, but it likely won't work.
So keep on winning liz, keep on running..

(14,934 posts)she won't be releasing them to him. Besides, that's not how that works. She can release them, but she can't commit them to support any particular candidate.
And since most of them are likely dem party loyalists.........

(18,402 posts)of course, they don't have to follow.
But I don't see her rebuffing Sanders. After all, they both have advocated for a wealth tax, and full Medicare for All as important planks in their agendas. If she was serious about that (and I'm never sure whether she's serious or just trying for votes), it would seem she'd have to throw in for Sanders. However, she's toed the Democratic Party line pretty well, so she might well go for Biden. Either way, she's put her own self in a box.

(14,934 posts)First, his campaign has brutally attacked her personally. She knows he is at the very least indifferent to it, and likely the root of it.
So she would look cowardly to now support him. Kind of like cruz supporting trump.
Plus, he won't win, and she knows that instinctively. Joe has the best chance, and if she wants to ever be anything but a us senator her best chances are to support the party.
I just don't see her giving bernie a hat tip. Politically it would be suicide. She might even get primaried over it. I know I'd vote her out if she did that (yes, I'm a MA voter). I don't care if she is really my first choice, I wouldn't support her again if she supported bernie. Ever.

(14,119 posts)to not support Elizabeth. I cant believe youd vote for a Republican senator over the great Senator Warren based on who she endorses in the primaries. She probably wont endorse Bernie but if she does, its not the end of the world.

There are a lot of old school, traditional dem's. They aren't going to vote for bernie. (14,934 posts)We can possess, gift, grow, and consume freely (well, in private anyway).
What I was referring to is local communities banning cannabis related businesses. They can do that, but can't ban any of the other rights we have under law.
So only a few communities so far have allowed retail shops to open. But they do exist.
Prior to full legalization, we had a long period of decriminalization. Getting caught with up to an ounce was nothing worse than a $50 traffic fine. No criminal penalties.
So yeah, new england is traditionally a conservative region, but we do have our moments of sanity.
We also are on a path to a $15 minimum wage by 2023. It's $12.75 right now. Sure beats PA at $7.25......
