I had a similar thought last night that was triggered by one of the silly "X state doesn't count because we won't win it in November" posts.

Those posts are thinly-veiled (or maybe not so thinly-veiled) bigotry, of course, and it made me wonder if the people who make them consider "working class" to be all-inclusive from a racial standpoint. One almost has to assume they don't, though that would be ridiculous.

But then, saying that a state doesn't count because we don't like it is pretty ridiculous itself.

Wed Mar 4, 2020, 03:18 PM
Mar 2020

Remember that one time when he had a rally in North Charleston, SC? BS can't even get AA and POC to attend a rally at an historically BLACK church in a MAJORITY BLACK neighborhood, within a MAJORITY BLACK city.

I knew right then and there that it was OVER for Bernie Sanders!

His rally (although well-attended) had so LITTLE ethnic diversity that it looked like he could have been somewhere Vermont. In fact, based on the statistics, the demographics at that rally was even whiter than Vermont.

It's obvious that the AA and POC community are rejecting BS and the BS campaign. They did then, and they still do NOW. He can't make headway. He hasn't been able to refine and tune his message.

BS just doesn't connect with that community. The BS message just isn't resonating. When the AA voters don't even BOTHER to show up to a rally that's RIGHT THERE in their city, their neighborhood, their church facility... well that is a SERIOUS SNUB and COMPLETE REJECTION.

All I'm saying is, with such a humiliating rejection by the AA and POC communities, and without their vote, BS doesn't stand a chance.

Wed Mar 4, 2020, 04:50 PM
Mar 2020

It was some type of event that had a light meal and was set among tables with table cloths. Hillary and Bernie was there and I guess gave short speeches. Hillary was joyously hobbobbing with people around her and other people were being drawn to her table, a total social event. Bernie say totally alone at the back of the room, no one around him, making no attempt to connect with anyone, looking pissed for some reason.

The event was in 2017, so it had nothing to do with the 2016 primary. The contrast was striking, private citizen Hillary Clinton being the center of activity and being there because she felt it important, and Bernie alone and likely there because maybe he felt like he had to be there.

If we come to 2020 and look back into the past, I can see a Senator Biden inviting Black and Hispanic and female colleagues to his home for dinner because he wanted their company. I can't imagine a Senator Sanders doing that with anyone but his ideological twins. That type of human interaction stuff matters a lot in the worlds of both politics and everyday life.

all of the candidates. What will hurt the down ballot races is a internal struggle in the Democratic Party. We are all adults and should be able to vote on who we like without anyone telling us why or how to vote. Start paying more attention to the actions of Trump and the enemy will become obvious.

The talking heads in the media are just filling the space with all kinds of theories - most of it is meaningless and repetitive. As soon as the situation changes (ex. Bidens surge after just totally writing him off) they will do a 180 and begin telling a totally different story.

example here in Texas is the GOP targets voters of all stripes with Bernie "Socialism" ads just trying to spread discontent. I think it is shameful that FB doesn't stop all political ads but "welcome to America". Be aware that Facebook infers our political interests from our behavior on and off the platform and allows paid advertisers to target us accordingly. My point is that it is part of social media for better and for worse - I think for worse. Hillary's "Pizzagate" is a good example of the type of crap that can does happen.

Reached out to Bernie's people and tried to establish help and organize with him in the state and his answer was essentially "Nah we're good". That turned a lot of people off to Sanders in South Carolina who could have been very powerful political allies. Frankly, his approach is often his worst enemy. If anyone doubts these facts from 2016, I would suggest going back and listening to some of Mark Thompson's "Make it Plain" shows where he had on SC political leaders on discussing this.

REALLY felt about women & POC & double folks like me, (FEMALE & A beautiful caramel brown with both copper & golden undertones), I sat up & listened. He's ONLY gone on to cement my disdain for his sorry ass & the bull$h!t, b@t$h!t crazy comments & FLAT OUT threats his followers & campaign workers spread, (compounded by his tacit approval by silence)& within the last few weeks, his acknowledgement of the $h!t his workers have been playing, ACTUALLY saying that he had NO PLANS stopping them, I'd vote for Skippy the Wonder Dog WAAAAAAY before sanders for the nomination. What'd Maya Angelou say:"When someone tells you WHO THEY ARE, BELIEVE THEM the FIRST TIME!!!

Not helping his case is former Ohio Senator Nina Harris, who seems to have lost her everloving mind. She needs to shut the F*ck up because EVERY SINGLE SOLITARY TIME she opens her mouth, things go further off the rail for bernie the jackass. I don't know ONE BLACK PERSON who plans to vote for sanders & look with askance @ Nina wondering what the fluff happened to her & how the hell we were ALMOST fooled into electing bernie's ignorant ass to the highest seat in the land.

No. he doesn't know that, really. Not really. He goes from Vermont to DC, and never walks the streets in DC. He lives a sheltered life, Bernie does.

It is entirely possible for a U.S. Senator to have never traveled the streets of Washington, D.C. Their lives take place in large, ornamental buildings and in limousines with darkened windows. It's amazing how isolated they can be.

If he is the winner. And, we will have to unite big to overcome the GOP propaganda machine. Any bets, if he is our presidential candidate the Trumps KKKlan Jamborees will include in the "Lock her up" chants a new Chant of "Jews will not replace us?" Good people will come out in droves.

Bernie's presenting an alternative and being true to himself.

No one has to vote for him. Like last year, a majority or even a plurality, might not vote for him.

But he is getting a lot of votes and that can't be ignored from an electorate point of view.

Because I know he's talking about people like Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Kamala Harris, Jay Inslee, and Deval Patrick -- politicians who are doing a good job, in my opinion.

Warren's positions are just as progressive but she never insults other Dems that way.

And looked what happened to her.

Diminished. Ignored. Even after she took out Blooomberg.

And then 3rd in MA. Even long term DU Warren supporters droppied her just to join the winning team.

I get that I may be in the minority of the Party but I like Bernie’s rhetoric as much as you don’t. Bernie’s strength is also his weakness.

But I’m glad someone is speaking truth to power within the party.

But I don't. I think Trump is dying to run against the socialist, and Russia probably gave them a mountain of opposition research to use against him, from when he visited there, and Cuba, etc.
