Vilification of the media, everyone else is at fault or conspiring against him, a severe persecution complex. Establishment Dems are what the deep state is for Trump. Who is gettng duped by these transparent and silly tactics? Thankfully, it's looking like the Dem electorate is smarter than the Repubs. They see through the bs and reject him at the ballot box.

They are both populists. Part of the populist playbook is to create an “us” and a “them.” Another part is to generate mistrust in “the establishment.”

Populism is a tactic, not a political philosophy. So populist movements can come from the right or left. In the end Populism is small d anti-democratic and cult like.
