On edit: They will be deliciously gluten free snacks, because my family eats that way. Other dietary restrictions can be accommodated.

I was so looking forward to voting for Elizabeth, but our primary isn't until May 19th!!!

And so when they are home at Christmas, they always arrive with a very nice bottle of bourbon!

My Dad made great cocktails too - he and my Mom had frequent dinner parties that included cocktails before dinner, wine with dinner, and after dinner drinks later. Don't know how anybody got home!! Wish I had learned from him. His Old Fashioned was legend. Margaritas with fresh lime juice too.

and has started making his own vermouth. Getting into making bitters next.

My parents were beer and wine people. My in-laws introduced me to dinner parties as you describe. Amazed me at first.

She set a beautiful table with linens, silver, and china. She was very artistic and made gorgeous flower arrangements for the table too. Funny thing though, she wasn't a very good cook! No matter. Everyone always had a good time. Maybe it was those cocktails!

At the mention of "put money in their pockets" I immediately get cranky remembering how it was a huge scandal and diabolically corrupt for Hillary to be paid for giving speeches. The stupidity is overwhelming. All the crap the three of them get... Dammit, pass the Chardonnay.
