The MSM is ignoring Sanders big California win

Disclaimer, I am not committed to Joe or Bernie, but this is Bullshit!

Yes Biden had a great night, but Bernie won the largest State with the most delegates and the Media is acting like he didn't win shit yesterday.

It's a disgusting show of bias.

Edit, I am not knocking Biden or his great showing yesterday, this is about the Press not giving attention to Sander's wins as well.

Some Biden supporters think this is an anti-Biden post, it is not. If they show the same bias if it id Trump/Biden and give Trump the headlines, you will not be so dismissive.

He lost it by 8 points in 2016. And I was always skeptical of him being so heavily favored in Texas.

Massachusetts I agree was a surprise, but it's likely Bernie split the progressive vote with Warren there. And yes, I know Bloomberg took votes from Biden in other states, but he was less of a factor in New England than other places.

Yes, he'll get a good amount of delegates from CA but he was expected to win big in CA and he also lost states many thought he'd win easily. The big story were Biden's surprisingly strong results in almost all the states. That is making news, of course. BS result in CA was rather one example among many states where he underperformed.

The way delegates are allocated, and the fact that Biden had 5 or 6 states which exceeded 50% or more, adds a lot of delegates into the Biden column, and why when the counts are all in, in spite of the large number of delegates California offers, Biden will come out with 50 or 60 more delegates in all the Super Tuesday races.

The process continues with more primaries next Tuesday

California's results came late into the night, after most of the states had already been called. That was why they were talking so much about Biden's shocking performance for most of last night.

As far as I can tell, California's final results will not be known for some time, and even once the results are final, projections are that Biden will have won a majority of the delegates from Super Tuesday regardless.

Given all that, why should the media spend more time praising Sanders for his win in California?

Answer me this: who was the big winner from Super Tuesday?

the race, Biden would have tied or exceeded Sanders in California:

Sanders 33.6%

Biden 24.9%

Bloomberg 14.3%

Warren 12.0%

The fact is, except in a couple of states, Sanders was unable to exceed 30-35%, while in 5 or 6 states Biden exceeded 50%. That is a big deal in terms of delegates, and why Biden will end up with about 50 to 60 delegates more when all the counts are in.

The MSM isn't ignoring that Sanders won California, they are realistically portraying that he only captured 30 to 35% of the vote there

It isn't winner take all, like the republicans run their primaries

By any standard, Super Tuesday was a loss for Sanders

What happens in the subsequent primaries remains to be seen

As others have suggested,California has a particularly quirky process for receiving, tabulating and reporting votes, largely due to its heavy reliance on mail in ballots and its acceptance of ballots received after election day. When it is reported that X percent of precincts have reported, all it means is that x percent of precincts have "partially" reported. See https://electionresults.sos.ca.gov/returns/status

Given that only 3 million votes have been tabulated so far and 5.1 votes were cast in the 2016 Democratic primary and given further that turnout has been up in virtually all other primaries, there probably are well over 2 million votes left to be counted. Who will get what percentage of those as yet to be counted votes? I don't have any idea. Exit polls of same day voting aren't particularly helpful in measuring mail in ballots.
