Tulsi Gabbard may have just qualified for the next Democratic debate thanks to American Samoa

One surprise winner of Super Tuesday could end up being Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.

While the rules for the next debate have not been released by the DNC, the most recent thresholds have allowed candidates to qualify if they performed well enough to earn a delegate in the primary so far.

There are also polling thresholds — which Gabbard has failed to meet several times in a row — but her performance in the territory of American Samoa could put her in the game, however one DNC official said that the delegate threshold "will go up."

Even the most dialed in debate observers did not know what to make of the development early Tuesday evening.

An official with the DNC has announced on Twitter that the threshold for participating in a Democratic debate will be increased. This announcement was made around the same time that American Samoa caucus rewarded Tulsi Gabbard with a delegate after she earned 29.3 percent of the votes with 99 percent reporting. The DNC’s debate threshold had allowed anyone to qualify to be in a debate if they gained one delegate in a primary or caucus, but the tweet from an official with the DNC indicates that might change.

Don't give the republican trolls more impetus to vote for her, poll for her, send her their $2 donations. Get out of it, Tulsi! Why are you hanging around anyway? You won't even win the Hawaiian Islands.

The candidate list has been winnowed down, and multi-person debates just doesn't make sense anymore. I'd prefer one-on-one between whoever wants to participate. A new series of these would be much more useful, don't you think? Keep them 2 hours long.

Harris never recovered, especially when the Sanderite social media sphere (then picked up and amplified by the MSM) made the 'Kamala is a cop' stick like gum on the sole of a plimsoul.
