(43,144 posts)He says no one knows anything about politics, it's unpredictable, and then predicts Bernie will win. DeBlasio is a special kind of crazy.

(68,556 posts)were considering Bloomberg as an alternative should Biden fail (me )...we thought Sanders might win Carolina. The polls indicated an anemic win at best. Super Tuesday was so bleak, it made me want to weep. In the midst of this, Clyburn endorsed and by God the race turn around 180 degrees...I have not considered the power of endorsements since Obama (Kennedy endorsed early). I think the endorsement made all the difference. Having someone who believed in Biden gave others almost permission to vote for Biden. Thank you...Jim Clyburn. And then the other moderates running for president put aside their ego's and did what was best for the country...what integrity! I am amazed at this. This would only happen in the Democratic Party...the same party that sacrificed a house majority to provide health care for millions of Americans which was and still is a BFD. I am proud to be a member of the Democratic Party.

(16,616 posts)Suddenly a lot of people who want Bernie to prevail are quoting screenwriter William Goldman, who famously wrote "Nobody knows anything." He was talking about a studio executive's inability to assess whether or not a treatment (idea) or screenplay would make a hit movie, a masterpiece or a bomb. That is true (or mostly true) in Hollywood, but it ain't true in presidential politics or many other areas of knowledge.
Ignorant people, or even people of reasonable intelligence who disagree with the prevailing opinions of experts, for some reason, absolutely love that particular William Goldman quote. Anti-vaxxers and climate change deniers probably love that quote too.

(6,034 posts)She worked for de Blasio's successful 2013 campaign. At that time she dated Elliot Spitzer. I believe de Blasi didn't take her into the administration because he was scared of tabloid headlines. She eventually wound up working for Mayor Pete.
De Blasio lost one of the best minds in the party.

(63,911 posts)That sounds reasonable. The guy needs the best minds and skills around him to deal with NYC. That's too bad. I have a son and grandson in NYC so I want the best for them (and I love NY).

His operation lost one of the best minds of the party.
Hindsight shows Mayor Pete was the better career choice her but no one knew that at the time.
