Mayor Pete was my original choice for the top of the ticket. I only hope the majority of voters see the same man the rest of us did: distinguished military vet, clear positive message, intelligent, and a terrific sense of humor.

Helping Biden win Indiana would be a real gut punch to the current corpse of a VP.

I still think a female or minority (or both) on the ticket would strengthen the numbers. Having a progressive would unite us and stop all of this cannibalism that helped elect Trump in '16. It shouldn't have been that close that the states defeated the citizens.

In any normal country without that fucked up electoral college (which was instituted to appease slave states) she'd be our President right now. Yes, unfortunately at this time a woman has to work harder than a man to win elections in our country, but Hillary got robbed. There was the constant Russian trolling on social media, there was the repub email bullshit, and the final straw was that last minute announcement by Comey. We, the supporters of Joe Biden, will not accept his not having a woman VP. An awful lot of Biden's supporters, like me, voted for Hillary Twice. Some of us, like me, even voted for her 3 times. Roughly 1 out of 3 Vice Presidents go on to Be President. Having a woman as VP may actually be the most likely way to get a woman as President. Focus your energy on a woman VP. Nothing else is acceptable.

Yes, a woman VP would be wonderful, but that is not the critical factor in this election. This year, we must depose Trump and any winning Democratic running mate Biden chooses is acceptable.

We must win, and putting restrictions on our nominee's choices for VP could interfere with that. I trust Joe to choose well.

On Edit: Warren was my first choice for president, but it became obvious that she couldn't win. I'd be thrilled beyond words if Joe picked her for his VP. If he thinks that together they can win, it's a real possibility. (He did say that she would have a place in his administration.)

I believe a lot of women would be put off if it were two men on the ticket. We always say we need the AA community to get out and vote in numbers because they are key to winning, but do not forget that a lot of women would be put off if he doesn't choose a woman as his running mate, and may not even vote/stay home for that reason.

I wouldn't and I doubt DU women wouldn't, but I bet many women would. We have so many tremendous women to pick from, so why couldn't he find one in that group?

a woman on the ticket. Do not forget the gender gap, where women voted for Democrats over Republicans in the 2018 midterms by *20* points. With a 20 point gender gap, we can annihilate Trump. What do you think would be the easiest way to get that 20 points? Put a woman on the ticket.

I have supported Joe Biden from before he announced. As long as Joe Biden, for example, picks a good woman, like say Kamala Harris, Stacey Abrams, or Val Demings, it will only help him. For Joe Biden not to pick a woman would be the stupidest thing he has ever done because it would risk compromising a 20 point gap with 51% of the American public.

They get 5 gold stars from me just for being Democrats. AOC is one of the brightest and hardest working women in politics. Ilhan Omar is one the bravest women that I know of. Ayana Pressley is also working very hard for the Democratic party.

Most Moderate Democrats want the same things that the more Progressive Democrats want--better healthcare, cheaper college, less sexism, and racism, etc. We just have different strategies for how to achieve them. I say, get as progressive as you can get away with.

For really a really blue state like Vermont, Bernie Sanders is perfect. AOC and Rashida Tlaib can get elected while being Democratic Socialists because they are in really blue districts. However, the odds are that they would not get elected as Democratic Socialists in some of the more Moderate Congressional Districts, just as it is super hard for Democratic Senators to get elected at all in states like Utah. I say, go as far to the left as your electorate will allow you to go.

1. I would prefer the VP slot would be offered to a Woman of Color, so I was not even suggesting offering the VP slot to Warren. She would be an awesome President or VP, but I also want to make sure that we include African Americans in the ticket.

2. If you think that VP is simply a figurehead position, then I have some news for you. The single biggest way for any politician to improve his or her chances of becoming President is by becoming Vice President. This is why Joe Biden was at the top of the polls for the 2020 election before he even announced that he was running--because he was Vice President.

This is why people keep saying that they want Kamala Harris to be Biden's VP, because they know it will improve her chances the most to become President someday. Fourteen Vice Presidents have gone on to become President. *Fourteen*

It is indeed a sad to see her drop out.
It was not only her policies, but her integrity, honesty and empathy for the average American and her incredibly quick mind that, to me, made her the perfect candidate.

But politics can be brutal and right or wrong we must move on. One of the greatest challenges in the history of the country lies directly in front of us. That of course is defeating the worst president ever and retiring the country to its place of honor.

It is a bit reluctantly but with no less enthusiasm I shall take up the cause of Joe Biden. In years past, when my candidate bowed out it was no effort to endorse the new leader. Any Democrat will be millions of times better than any radical right Trumper.

Forward - there is a vast amount of work to be done.

Like her, I'm not changing my endorsement, yet.
I am so grateful that she ran, for her competence, and for her unwavering support of us. And I am intensely sad and angry that women have been shunted off AGAIN.
Not sure VP would be the best role for her talents. Maybe Secretary of Treasury? Or a new cabinet position, Secretary of Consumer Protection?

it was crushed when Andrew Gillum lost the race to be our governor. This is what he had to say about Elizabeth today....

Elizabeth Warren is one of our finest leaders — a fiercely intelligent thinker & and an optimistic fighter for change like no other in our country.

She was all those things yesterday. She is all those things today.

will not become president. Because she doesn't have a dick. That is what it boils down to. She is smarter than either man and more practical and better able to get things done. But the media, the party and men are terrified at the thought of a smart powerful woman. The Bernie worshipers should be ashamed. Warren could have delivered many of the things they want. Bernie never will because he is an egomaniac just like trump. I will fight to help Joe win but it is like being promised cake and ice cream and instead having to settle for gruel. And Joe will pick a man for VP.

The perfect candidate. Out.

I can’t and won’t support Biden. That leaves Sanders by default. It’s not so much that I support Sanders as much as it is I oppose four years of treading water.

I can’t believe that a guy who tried twice and was rejected by Democratic voters is now the go to guy of our Party.

From a Bernie Sanders supporter, much respect to Senator Warren. She's always been my second pick. Warren ran a great campaign and was one of the stronger debaters in my opinion. I am a bit disappointed that she backpedaled on medicare for all and her treatment of Senator Sanders towards the end was a bit baffling, but even with those misgivings, I would still vote for her over Biden. A million times over. Biden......really people? Joe Biden?

Hasn't Biden run for POTUS like 4 times and has never won? I am also worried about the fact that, and I am not saying this to be mean, he seems to be having issues with his mental faculties. Also, has anyone actually looked at his career. A career in which he has went out of his way time and time again to "reach across the aisle" and appease republicans? We need a fighter in there, not someone to play pattycake with the rethuglicans. Also, his flat-out rejection of medicare for all as even a possibility leaves a sour taste in my mouth as well. Yes let's just bring back half-assed Obama-care so the GOP can just dismantle it again. Yay.

I know I'll get hate for this, but I just feel like nominating Biden is the equivalent to handing Trump another 4 years in office. I hope I'm wrong, but Trump will most likely beat Biden pretty handily. I will vote blue no matter who, but I have a bad feeling about running Joe Biden against Trump.

Don’t let the bottom of this post mislead you — my preferred candidate remains Elizabeth Warren.

As for your post, I share your sentiments about Biden. With one exception — I think he’ll beat Trump. But, that’s really all he brings to the table. And, while that’s worthwhile, I want more. Especially in the healthcare arena. We desperately need a single payer plan, not “improvements” (not a single one of which has been specified by Biden) to the woefully inadequate patchwork quilt healthcare system we have now.
