"One of the hardest parts of this is all those pinky promises and all those little girls..."

Sen. Warren on ending her 2020 presidential run with two white men leading the Democratic primary:

"One of the hardest parts of this is all those pinky promises and all those little girls who are going to have to wait 4 more years. That's going to be hard."

Hillary, Elizabeth and Amy were all very qualified...Hillary won but was cheated out of the office. And Elizabeth and Amy were not even considered... I am a Biden supporter but that seems like going backwards. I truly think it was fear of losing to Trump that caused this-not a dislike of either candidate...I got a hide a while back for saying a woman couldn't win the presidency...deserved it. I think other people were afraid too. It was horrifying to watch Trump win last time. And I have nightmares about him winning re-election.

Along came a Warren supporter who gently (well maybe not gently) pointed out Hillary did win and my words contributed to the misogyny we face in this country...this was the last thing I wanted to do. I have three daughters. I apologized for saying a woman couldn't win the presidency and apologize again right now. It is just not true...that was my fear talking.

Elizabeth Warren is a fine person, a tireless candidate and a fine example for my three daughters. I consider myself a Warren supporter as she was my second choice in the end. I am sure Biden will consider Elizabeth for VP, she could help bring unity to the ticket.

never ever make a pinky promise you can't keep. If they ask for one for something that simply might not happen despite the best intentions... better to say "no pinky promise, but I will try my very best!" and do it with a reassuring smile.

So history will still be made.

Shouldn’t be Warren though. Can’t have R governor picking a replacement.
