"We are used to supporting whichever less-qualified white man seems to hate us least"

Stop telling Warren supporters to suck it up and support Sanders or Biden.

Of course we will do that, we're strong, capable women and we are fucking used to supporting whichever less-qualified white man seems to hate us least.

But we get to be mad as hell first.
If I were to vote in a presidential

That kind of negativity discourages voting. What good purpose does it serve? (Except in the case of Michael Moore, there's always a dollar to be made behind some blowhard like him predicting the worse and being able to snidely chant "told ya so, told ya so"... knowing full well that if he'd been wrong, his mistake would have been forgotten as quickly as the incorrect predictions of Sylvia Brown.)

40. The only candidate for the presidency that
Thu Mar 5, 2020, 09:54 PM

matters, in my reckoning, is Biden. He has a fair enough record in his voting history. I've been around for a while, I have been voting for decades and I pay attention. I know who Joe Biden is and I know who Bernie Sanders is and have for quite some time, they are both humane and compassionate in their beliefs.

Biden has accomplished quite a bit for the people over the years and he learns from mistakes and takes/seeks sound advice. I want that in my president. I have no desire to see Bernie become president because I don't feel comfortable with his world view. And he has been insulting me, as a Democrat, for some time and I take offense to that. He was never on my list of preferences.

Considering the situation the country is in at present, I have no intention of letting my personal preferences get in the way of what must be done. It' s kind of like being in combat for real; you have to make decisions, choices and take actions you wouldn't under normal circumstances. And you do them because the alternative is great loss that is unacceptable.

Times like these require us to drop our ice cream and start rowing the damn boat before we go over the waterfall. I have an oar in my hand and I'm rowing hard as I can, I hope everybody else does too.

I'd bet most Democrats have voted for a minority or woman at just about every level of state or federal government over the last 12 years. Most are looking for the best candidate.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

their lives. Big whoop.

On the other hand, the overwhelming majority of votes cast by most, if not all, black and female Democratic voters have been cast for white people and men.

As a black female Democrat, I am very weary of white voters acting as if they should get a medal because they voted for a person of color one or a few times, when black people consistently vote for white candidates over and over and over without expecting a pat on on the back.

Obama 08
Obama 12
Clinton 16

In Dallas Texas I just voted for a Black Senatorial candidate in Royce West
2016 our district elected the first Black Democrat US Representative in generations in Colin Allred-voted for him again on Tuesday. I voted for the current Black Mayor in the past year. Voted for more minorities and/or women this election primary day than I did Caucasians. Minorities and women control most judgeships and just about every county-wide post in both Dallas and Harris County (Houston). I'm not sure right now but Houston has had an LGBT women mayor in the very recent past. Previously Dallas has voted in Ron Kirk as Mayor of Dallas-in addition we have 10 minorities or woman on the City Council v 4 who aren't although another is Jewish. I voted for Biden because he's the best and probably only Democratic candidate who will likely be able to flip the key states Democrats need to win the Presidency in 2020

Maybe its a metropolitan thing but the candidates running and winning more races than Caucasians are women and minorities. That's the reality of voting Democrat in a Big City these days

Democratic voters have shown that they will elect candidates of all colors, races and genders-Republicans not so much

55. You've mentioned fewer than 10 minority and female candidates you've voted for
Thu Mar 5, 2020, 11:19 PM
Mar 2020

Yes - that's a "few."

And interestingly, you point to elections of minorities in big cities as some kind of proof that white voters are willing to "elect candidates of all colors, races and genders" - completely ignoring the fact that those victories are largely the result of the large number of minority voters in those areas. I suspect that if we had to rely solely on white Democratic votes, minorities wouldn't fare so well.

That's my point. Black voters consistently vote for white candidates. But white voters are not nearly as willing to vote for minority candidates - and when minority candidates win, it's usually because black voters put them over the top.

Sorry, but I'm not giving white Democrats a participation medal because they sometimes vote for minority and female candidates - our party still has a long way to go to even the playing field.

….which is a very prestigious area in Dallas

I hadn't voted for a Caucasin Man for President in 16 years
current US Senate candidate
current US Representative
2/3rd of the candidates I voted for 2 days ago were women and minorities

What are you talking about-I'd bet this is very common for every Democrat voting in a Metropolitan area-even in the more affluent areas

Nor do I take issue with the points you’ve made.

This is only my second post since Warren withdrew, but I said in my first and I’ll say it in all of my posts (which will be few) in this forum — don’t let the bottom of this post mislead you, my candidate of preference remains Elizabeth Warren.

Whatever synergy that they had between them was destroyed by the actions of some of his supporters and Bernie failing to condemn those actions. Warren has more influence remaining as a senator than moving into the executive branch under either Biden or Sanders.

And they did it on their own and the results of Super Tuesday was the reason Warren dropped out.

If Warren had gotten about the same percentage of the female vote as Biden or Sanders have gotten, she'll probably still be in the race.

Black, brown, yellow, purple, male, female, or anything in between... she needs someone to advise her. She is absolutely positively more brilliant than any human who has ever ran for office. Her recall of information and detail is phenomenal and unrivaled.

Yet, she scared people and was always on 10 instead of mixing it with 2s occasionally. Always yelling about how horrible big business was. Well, there are millions who actually work in big business. There are millions who want incremental, responsible change toward a great objective in the future like everyone having health care. People may want the ultimate goal but they also want responsible transition.

Someone needs to repackage her brilliance.

I will not endorse either one.

When it comes time for me to vote in the MD primary (I have opted to do this rather than vote in the Global Primary for Americans Abroad because we pay taxes in MD as well and I am very interested in state and local elections there), there will be two things that will guide my primary choice.

1) whichever one I trust more
2) whichever one is married to a woman who will return grace, class and inspiration to the tarnished office of First Lady

Using these criteria, you can probably guess which candidate will be my choice.

Because, heartsick as I am, I must choose.
