Warren Urged by NOW Not to Endorse Sanders: He Has 'Done Next to Nothing for Women'

https://www.newsweek.com/warren-urged-national-organization-women-not-endorse-sanders-1490872

In an interview with Associated Press, NOW President Toni Van Pelt urged Warren not too "rush into" anything.

"She has a lot of leverage right now. We do trust her to make the right decisions on how to proceed. But we'd like her not to rush this," Van Pelt said.

"We think that our constituents, our members, will not necessarily think of Sanders as the best choice," the NOW chief continued.

After all, she said, "we wouldn't have the Violence Against Women Act if it wasn't for Biden's leadership."

-snip-

She went on to say that Sanders "doesn't have a record" on women's issues and has "done next to nothing for women and for our issues."
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Her platform is closer to that of Sanders than Biden. If she endorses Biden now, she looks like she is abandoning her platform. At the same time, I doubt she's keen to endorse Sanders. She has the same concerns about him that so many others have.

I don't think she needs to get in the middle of the voters' decision between Biden and Sanders. She will endorse the nominee. That's the right approach.

Republicans simply are the biggest threat this nation faces today. Republican policies have caused and are causing needless suffering for millions of people. We are still suffering from Republican policies and laws from the era of Reagan. This is measurable. We will suffer for another generation or two from the Republican policies during Trump.

We are divided because the Democratic party is the party of protection and the Republican party is the party of assault. Both sides are not the same.

She of course just like Sanders will back Biden if he wins the party nomination.

I may be wrong though, but I doubt she planned her very progressive (anti corporation)campaign to be over this soon.

The 2 who quit the day before super Tuesday and quickly committed, Betos endorsement & Bloomberg resigned- now that was a planned campaign strategy.

Bidens running an excellent campaign. I had hoped Warren would be in the game longer. I would have loved a 3 way debate next week. Now Sanders I'm almost positive he will remain as long as possible. Our party, our American 'people' need his very progressive voice.

67. I'm listening to Maddow's interview with Sanders and got mad when he was asked

about his unpopularity with black voters and said that Biden is popular because Obama was a popular president and running against Hillary, well, Bill Clinton was popular with black voters too. WHAT? He probably doesn't know anything about Hillary's history, erased! Mentions her husband! It's outrageous. He does this all the time. He doesn't even really see women, let alone do anything for them.

"Important civil-rights leaders such as John Lewis described their affection for her as that of a longstanding comrade-in-arms. 'That determination and strength particularly has meaning to African American women,' said Sharon Reed, sixty, a community college teacher ... . These black mothers disputed the idea that Clinton was using them for political purposes, citing Clitnon's long-standing work with Civil Rights activist and Children's Defense Fund founder Mirian Wright Edelman, as well as other black community leaders. ... 'I feel a kinship to who she is. She knows and understands the battles we fight every day,' said Ohio congresswoman Marica Fudge. 'She has a special place with us because she really get it.' On election night, an estimated 94 percent of black women voted for Clinton." Susan Bordo.

He may not have a litany of legislation, but he has long been a supporter of women's rights.

Shes pissed-off at Bernie for two reasons: that kerfuffle in the debate about who was lying over whether Bernie said: “ a woman can’t win." Bernie accused her of lying.

And the utter nastiness of the Bernie Bros.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
