(11,607 posts)Neither is even 1/3 of the way to the 1990 they need.
The rest of the map and the dynamics of a two-person race definitely favor Biden at this point, but this race has been so volatile that who knows what will happen? A week ago Biden's campaign was on life support and Bernie looked unstoppable. Would be surprised but not shocked if the pendulum swings a few more times before it's over.

(67,782 posts)...in Michigan and Washington it will be all but over if it isn't already.
There are no remaining big states in which he'll do well.

(7,386 posts)Biden benefited from a consolidation. Who is left to boost Bernie's numbers?

(11,607 posts)And maybe a few of Bloomberg's. The latter sounds crazy but I saw a few people on here or Twitter who said they were torn between Bernie and Bloomberg. Makes no sense to me but who knows?
I definitely think Biden is more likely to get the nomination but if I were him I wouldn't count my chickens before they hatch.

(42,862 posts)I know that Florida has a lot of delegates up for grabs... and Bernie's poll numbers are HUMILIATINGLY low there. Biden's numbers are in the 60th percentile!
New York? Bernie needs a blowout victory... but he's not going to get it there either.
His path to victory is getting smaller and smaller. In short order he'll be mathematically eliminated.
That will be the moment he needs to conceded and endorse. Otherwise, it will only create resentment, distrust, bitterness and anger as we've seen happen before. That kind of behavior (or lack of leadership) only creates negativity. Negativity generates apathy. Apathy discourages voter turnout. Low voter turnout gives Republicans a chance to steal the elections.
Joe/Kamala or Biden/Harris 2020!!
Jump on the Biden Bandwagon & abandon the revolution!!

(5,559 posts)The surprise wins in Maine and Mass aren't what has Biden on top, it is the margin in VA and NC. Just those two states completely negate Bernie's win in CA.
It's not the Texas's and Michigan's deciding this, it is the blowout wins in the Southeast. Bernie has no counter available and thus no path to victory

(42,862 posts)He knows it. He should just concede and use his campaign cash to fight against Trump... and to support every Democrat who can defeat their GOP opponent.

(1,315 posts)He had some $7 million left over from last time and if he had helped Democrats win up and down the ticket, he would have created some friends. Instead, he spent it on primarying incumbents for the JD crowd - 95% of his candidates lost.. but in losing, he created powerful enemies.

(42,862 posts)Primarying a Dem incumbent almost ALWAYS weakens them and allows the GOP to flip the seat. It makes the incumbent spend campaign money fending off a gadfly challenger thus leaving precious few funds for the main fight of the General Election. Also, it creates resentment and division within the party and the "losers" will pout and not come out at all... thus making it more difficult for the incumbent.
What a FOOLISH WASTE OF MONEY.
They could have instead used it to go after weak Republicans... and support their Democratic challengers. The "Justice Democrats" (a Cenk Uygur creation) and Our Revolution are filled to the brim with the most unsophisticated political neophytes I've ever seen. Selfish, bitter, impatient, immature, vindictive. It's little wonder that they have such a poor track record. And it's also clear to me that the 5% of the winners who were endorsed by "JD" and "OR" would have won their contests anyway.
