Is it safe for candidates in their late 70's to be holding rallies with thousands of people?

They are telling those of us over 60 to stay home.

Now we have the only two viable Democratic candidates, both of whom have had health issues, being out in public for days, having contact with lots of people. They are not wearing masks or gloves.

It makes me nervous. What if one or both of them becomes ill?

Was the event in Chicago? I haven't heard that it's there either. Maybe it wouldn't be safe somewhere the coronavirus has hit?

I’m slightly less concerned about outdoor rallies rather than those held inside in high school gyms etc. as far as the crowd part of it goes.

Due to the expected and usual Trump Botch Job we don't even have reliable testing going on to find out where it actually is spreading yet.

All we can do is estimate until outbreaks become severe.

So, who even knows when and where they might have been infected. I do share your concerns, though.

At their age, it’s not worth the risk right now.
After rallies, just apologize for not being able to press the flesh and take pictures.
State that the campaign won’t allow it during Coronavirus scare.

No, they should not stop rallies. They should ask their supporters to avoid face to face conversation and touching, and hand sanitizer poles should be set up on the rally grounds.
