Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumWhy do BS Bros claim Biden has cognitive decline when BS is at very high risk for it after his MI?
People, particularly older people such as BS, who have a MI (Myocardial Infarct or heart attack) at extremely high risk of cognitive decline, depression, dementia, and other mental health issues. This, of course, is in addition to the fact that a white male over 70, such as BS, who has had a heart attack has a median life expectancy of under 4 years.
What sort of stupidity would drive BS supporters to suggest that Joe Biden has a cognitive issue when it's much more likely that BS is either suffering from cognitive issues or will be soon? It's just plain dumb for BS supporters to raise this issue. You have to wonder why BS doesn't try to stop this? Can't he see the risk of this ploy backfiring? Or is there something preventing him from understanding the risk?
Below is a link just one study that discusses the risk of the mental health issues (specifically, non-dementia cognitive decline) for someone as old as BS who has had a heart attack. There are hundreds more.

(434 posts)Elderly people don't become "stronger and healthier" after a heart attack unless they were a total mess and go through extreme rehab. That's tRump level craziness to suggest othrewise. Read some of the studies. Look at the data. People his age go into decline. I'm a doctor, I've seen.
Conversely, speaking as a physician, I seen no evidence of any cognitive decline with Biden. I evaluate people for this sort of stuff and he's not showing any signs that raise such a conce. (BTW, Biden was a great athlete in his youth, which is a protective factors BS lacks.)
Basically, yourr is claim of Biden of having a cognitive issue is not only false, but you're also repeating a Republican talking point.
What we need to discss are the facts, And the facts are that BS is the one at risk of cognitive decline if he is not already suffering from it now--rather than BS fantasy. (People who show the rigid, dogmatic thinking BS shows is an additional risk factor.)

Sanders' Deceptive Obama Quotes In Ad
https://upload.democraticunderground.com/1287643005
It's literally a bunch of Obama quotes from past Bernie praise. It concludes will a full screen video of Obama saying "feel the Bern." It's clearly trying to imply Obama is behind Sanders in the primary.
Amazingly deceptive.

(53,061 posts)Detached from reality.
Sanders biggest "landslide" win was 50% in Vermont. Biden will have a dozen states with a higher percentage than Bernie's % in his home state.
Biden's huge numbers in Florida will probably NET him more than Sanders TOTAL number of delegates in CA, which was supposed to be a landslide but turned out to be a modest 7 % lead.
Minutes ago every single (100%) elected Democratic official in Idaho endorsed Biden in a joint statement, this in a caucus state that went Sanders 4 years ago.
Sanders devotees point to Washington State as a bright spot for Sanders because he won the caucuses 4 years ago. What they don't know is that WS also had a primary last time that Sanders lost big time.
In any case even if you give Sanders the most favourable projections he cannot catch Biden because Democrats use proportional allocation not winner take all.

(434 posts)The BS people ignore the fact that BS is a 78 y/o white male who had a heart attack is at high risk of mental health issues and death.
Do you ever see a single response that offers any scientific support that argues otherwise?
No--because there isn't any.
This is exactly why BS won't release his medical records. If they would show what the BS supporters claim, BS would have released. He knows the records will show he has major medical issues, so he's buried them.

(70 posts)(very few) Biden supporters post on Twitter pictures of Bernie looking red faced and heaving, and I always choose not to amplify it because I think it's trashy and I've had family members who have had heart attacks, and even though I think that Biden will most likely be the nominee, I'm not exactly counting Bernie out yet. And I think that it's telling that they have not been amplified by his supporters to the extend of ever being trending on Twitter, or spread by his bluecheck supporters. This is the stench of a campaign that knows it's losing, and it really does a disservice to all of the people who have worked so hard to get his campaign where it is. And as someone who has had family members with dementia...these clowns clearly have NO CONCEPTION of what actual dementia or sundowning is, and it's bringing up a lot of painful memories for me.

(434 posts)Why else would anyone who claims to be a progressive allow his campaign to propagate and repeat the ableist lies?
A person whose brain was working well would have to realize that these lies are backfiring on his campaign and only helping tRump.
BS just doesn't seem to be able to grasp the reality of his situation and the consequences of his actions.
He's repeatedly the same mistakes he made in 2016 but the mistakes are worse this time.

(434 posts)The BS Stans & BS Bros who engage in this were never true progressives.
Progressivism is based on love and respect of other humans. The BS supporters are filled with hate and contempt for most of humanity. Progressivism is based on tolerance. These BS supporters are intolerant of anyone who dares disagrees.
And BS doesn't just tolerate them and this hateful, divisive behavior. BS encourages the hateful, divisive behavior.

(13,390 posts)It is popular to accuse enemies of having a characteristic that is commonly marginalized when all else fails. Many of the same people who are outraged saw nothing wrong with speculating that Trump has some kind of mental illness. It dates back to an alternative for marginalizing anyone not white, as well as arguments against women voting. It's ironic when Biden defenders get upset considering the bottom line of his lack of support for Med4all is the private health insurance underwriters and their supporters who would rather disabled people die than not have insurance alternatives that provide them with a sense of superiority.
