Sanders backed by Justice Democrats

Politico article here:

I don't know whether to offer Sanders congrats or sympathies on getting this endorsement.

The JDs saw 26 of the 79 primary candidates they backed in 2018 win their primaries, which wasn't exactly great to start with.

But only 7 of the 26 won their general election fights.

And those 7 were all in districts already held by Democrats. Safe districts.

And 3 of those 7 had been elected previously, before joining Justice Democrats.

Not exactly the greatest record for endorsements....

In the 2018 elections, 26 of the 79 candidates endorsed by Justice Democrats won their respective primary elections. Seven of these candidates won in the general election: Raúl Grijalva, Ro Khanna, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Pramila Jayapal. All seven won districts already held by Democrats. Khanna and Jayapal were both first elected in 2016 before joining Justice Democrats, and Grijalva was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2002.

with donations from people who don't know any better.

The statistic that is more impressive is the number of candidates opposed by JD who won the primary against JD AND won the GE. That number is somewhere around 43 if I am not mistaken.

Wasn’t this one of the groups associated with Cenk Uygur before he was kicked out?

The Justice Democrats ousted Cenk Uygur, one of its founding board members and a creator of progressive online network The Young Turks, following the Thursday revelation that Uygur had authored sexist blogposts in the early 2000s.

The left-leaning political organization, which Uygur and others established this year to support progressive primary challenges against Democratic incumbents in Congress, made the announcement Friday. The group also severed ties with David Koller, who co-founded The Young Turks with Uygur and served as Justice Democrats’ treasurer. A 2004 blogpost in which Koller used degrading language about women he and Uygur met on a road-trip surfaced this week as well.

They have a terrible track record.

The "Justice Democrats" is a Cenk Uygur creation... it's his baby. That's all you need to know.
