I'm having dinner with my sad, Warren supporting brother & still hopeful, Sanders supporting niece

Not sure where her husband's preferences stand, at this point, except that he is very anti-trump*.

Admittedly, I tried to get them to postpone this dinner until next Sunday since I have no doubt political discussions will ensue. The path to the nomination might be much clearer, by then and I'd have more time to refine my reassuring responses to their individual issues with my candidate.

I also have no doubt that, who ever gets the nomination, we will all be voting Blue.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

true anyway, and that it pretty much came out of nowhere but a lot of voters were clearly thinking the same thing. I think that's an honest assessment and surely non controversial.

I totally respect their reasons for supporting their candidates. Elizabeth was my #2 choice. Also, I was a big fan of Sanders, in 2016, but to say I'm disillusioned with the performance and behavior of his campaign is an understatement. I quickly made the shift to the Clinton camp, in 2016 so I've been where they are, and hope they end up where I am, now.

I've already had a long talk with my brother. If he gets too obstreperous I might have to remind him he voted for Nader, in 2000. Oh, and my niece voted for W in 2004. Admittedly, I made it my mission, over the past 20 years, to do some big time 'educating'. At least we are all in the same ballpark, now.

and have an enjoyable dinner!!

You have a lose-lose situation discussing politics at this time. Either you come across as a sore winner or a patronizing brother/uncle.

Dinner was at my house and my trumpster cousin informed us that he would come by, on if we promised not to talk bad about trump*.

I was all for saying 'Well then, just stay home.' but I was voted down. Instead we talked about the exact same stuff we've been talking about, for years.
