with Bernie Sanders, who bugged out to Michigan instead of keeping a previously-scheduled campaign stop in Mississippi. Joe is being loyal to the people who remained loyal to him, even when everybody in the media left Joe for dead.

Joe comes to Michigan on Monday and has some big names here for him now (Amy, Harris, Kerry). Bernie's here. but no big name politicians are with him.

Had he endorsed Biden it would have not caused a ripple even here on DU. But he gets lots of attention with this endorsement. And the man does love the camera and has not been in much demand since his... problems.

Jessie did some great things and was a trailblazer. But always loved the limelight. And in his defense, Bernie did endorse him back in the day.

I'm not religious I think it gives a lot of people confidence when they see that Joe goes to church and he does every week. He's not a stranger to it. All he has to do is show everyone what he's doing.

Particularly in the south. Most surveys usually note that while AA voters skew left by a massive margin, they are much more religious and active in their church than their more secular white counterparts.

It’s one reason Bernie can’t win them over and it makes his supporters heads explode because they can’t figure out Biden’s black voter appeal when it’s right in front of their face.

I completely understand why Bernie has never seemed like he felt comfortable going into black churches like a lot of candidates do, as he is a (I think) non-practicing Jew. It’s quite a culture shock for those who weren’t raised around a black church culture in the south.

I recall Clinton failed to appear in important states such as PA and MI prior to the GE in 2016. Sounds like Biden and his campaign have learned a lesson.
