While I, like Warren, am closer to Sanders policies on MFA and student debt relief, I just dont think he can get any of our progressive ideas implemented. And I think that will hurt us in the long run. Announcing Phillip Agnew as a senior advisor adds to my doubt and has finally pushed me to the Biden camp.
Although not with the passion I would have had for Warren, I will cast my vote for Biden on Tuesday.

(2,657 posts)This is good news for Joe Biden!
Senator Elizabeth Warren is a great Senator--Hardworking, super-intelligent, and very well educated. That you supported her shows that you know your stuff. Many of us Biden supporters voted for Hillary, and we see a lot of the same good qualities in Elizabeth Warren.
Again, thanks for your vote, and Welcome to Team Biden!

(3,696 posts)I think Bernie knows that but leads his supporters to think otherwise. His promises to enact M4All and eliminate college debt won't happen and that will hurt Dems long term.

(22,800 posts)I've also had some very unpleasant exchanges with Bernie supporter online when I was trying to have a conversation on the issues, not the personalities. I hate to say it, but Bernie Bros are a real phenomenon. Certainly not all (or even most) Bernie supporters are Bernie Bros, but the Bros are the loudest online and in public.

(3,014 posts)Who are toxic regarding their Sanders support. One is desperate for help - financial, medical, and mental - and truly thinks everyone and everything is out to get her. Sanders is a bit of a savior for her. The other is a philosophy professor who doesnt have to live in the real world.

(22,800 posts)against demonizing Biden. This fellow and his bros use the strongest language and foul vitriol against every Democrat except Bernie, and are hyper-sensitive to the slightest criticism of Sanders. Bernie Bros are a minority of the people who support Sanders, but they are a real phenomenon, and they are the loudest of any group online and in public. I swear they really act like they are in a cult. Once again, I'm writing about a particular group of people I just interacted with, not Sanders supporters in general.

(8,046 posts)My heart was with her for sure..... But I didn't dare vote early because there was just too much happening at the last minute. So on Monday, after the Beto, Amy, and Pete endorsements, I just had to go with Joe. I had two friends who voted early (for Elizabeth) and I think they would have voted for her anyway - even on the day of.
I took the day off (as I normally do on election days) and spent it with two friends: one voted for Bernie, the other for Biden. The friend who voted for Bernie and I have spent every election night together since 2008. We talked today and she regrets her vote. She told me she wishes she had voted for Biden.
My Nephew worked (not as a volunteer but as a staff member) for the Warren campaign in Texas. I haven't spoken with him but my Sister said he's taking it really, really hard. There's a lot more to my Nephew's story (my mom and brother raised him due to my late sister's drug addiction) and he's just an amazing and wonderful young man (32 years old). In 2008, my brother took him and his cousin (my brother's son) to meet Candidate Obama when he was campaigning. Michael (my Nephew) said it was one of the happiest nights of his life. He will rise from this and continue his mission for the underdog as he has done his whole life. He and his wife adopted two children over the past four years. A girl from Ethiopia and a boy from Guatemala. They are remarkable people through and through. It just kills me to know how devastated he is right now.
I'm sorry I'm rambled on so....I really just wanted to thank you for your decision to vote for Joe.
