Sanders supporters are going through the five stages of mourning

denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance

Biden looks inevitable now , but I see a lot of denial and anger from some Sanders supporters (not so much here, but elsewhere)

Will we move to the other stages after the next Primaries and towards the DNC?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:

Biden is not my choice, I just see the math and the map making him the odds on favorite to take the nomination. So I have moved on to look at November. I don't dislike Joe, and if he does, in fact, have the best chance to beat Trump, that is good. I will support him in the election and work to get him elected. I'm just not in his primary 'camp". If things were reversed after Super Tuesday, i would be saying the same things to Biden supporters.

are declaring as loudly as possible that Biden is going to lose to Trump or that Biden is Hillary Clinton v.2.0 (except of course, Hillary DID overwhelmingly win the primary against Sanders and won the PV and how she lost the EC is waaaay more complicated than many of them want to make it seem). I have a feeling that, if Biden wins the nod, this is going to be much a redux of 2016, although hopefully with a better eventual outcome.

It's almost like it would give them a sense of smug satisfaction and/or validation, like they probably felt in 2016. I totally understand their disappointment about Sanders (probably) losing the nomination again. I certainly am disappointed that Warren is out of the running now, as she was my first choice. However, we can't survive another 4 years of Trump and even though Biden has a much less developed idea of what he plans to accomplish as President than what I would prefer, I have zero doubts that he will appoint qualified and competent individuals to his cabinet and throughout the Federal Government and he will nominate qualified and competent Judges to fill the federal bench and Supreme Court, esp. as we are looking at the high probability that Breyer and Ginsburg won't last through another 4 years of Trump and having a 7-2 right-wing Supreme Court would be a disaster of unmitigated proportions (and it's bad enough as it is now). Some people seem to be unable and/or unwilling to see the forest for the trees and it's hard to convince them of the actual dangers of another 4 years of Trump. One of my friends basically mocks anybody she feels is just saying "Orange man bad" (which he most definitely is, though). She basically doesn't see that Trump is anything more than a natural extension of everything that has come before and goes back and points out that Trump isn't as bad as, say, Hitler. Hard to challenge that sort of mentality.

He's running the exact same campaign in 2016 that wasn't good enough to win the nomination. He's still trying to pack the room with his people and displace long-time democratic voting groups. This is a hostile take over, everybody knows it and Sander's supporters are particularly gleeful about it.

It didn't work n 2016, but here Sanders is again, doing the same thing and failing the same again.

He had years to change his tactics and build bridges to the constituents that rejected him last time. He's done nothing towards that, that is 100% his fault and his problem.

This isn't a failure of his policies or what he's fighting for. This is a failure of Sanders personally, as a leader, as a motivator, as a person.

But some Sanders supporters completely gloss over the cheating and some of them even mock the rest of us when we bring up Russia being involved in the election interference and continue to just blame Hillary for being a bad candidate/wrong choice, even though she did well in the debates against Trump and, aside from the whole flap over her e-mail server, which she really had no control over, her campaign was fine. The only thing that maybe she should have done more of was to put in an appearance in one of the midwest states (that Democrats almost never lose), but I'm not totally convinced it would have changed anything per se. Comey's surprise announcement that he seemed to be re-opening the e-mail server investigation in the last few days of the campaign seemed to hugely shift the momentum towards Trump, even though he was already actively under investigation for collusion with Russia (unbeknownst to the rest of us).

There are 2 stories.
1) Biden's rise
2) Sanders collapse

Polls now showing Biden leading in states Sander won 4 years ago like Michigan and Washington.

From detachment to disengagement to complete disregarding of facts, the inability of Sanders devotees to get out of the bubble is a social phenomena of its own.

The final and last stage will be Sanders devotees demanding massive concessions from Biden because Trump and Biden are so similar.

and Biden has decisive enough results so that the primary looks more and more done. We don't need another convention where some naive got duped by irresponsible people that there was still hope and that the superdelegates would overturn the will of the people.

As for the stages of grief, the problem last time was that a considerable number never left the anger phase. Some never did till this day. I hope this time maturity and the acceptance to fight for a common goal and improve the conditions in regards to many aspects wins. Getting to 80-90% of what someone promised who never had a serious plan to make those promises a reality is still definitely progress. 2-3 Supreme Court Justices appointed by a Dem is without a doubt progress. Those who'd rather piss on 80% progress are acting irresponsibly.
