538 projection of pledged delegates for Biden: 2343

As most know, he needs 1991 on the first ballot to secure the nomination.

If Biden comes in with a solid majority in that range, there's really no room for a repeat of 2016. I think there will be little or no tolerance for the kind of nonsense we saw then.

That should mean less drama, less media coverage of the drama, and more coverage of the party unifying behind Biden. United front, on to November.

Not saying that there won't be any drama at all, but I don't think it's going to get much attention. This isn't 2016.

Seriously.

We've never been at this place in our country before. Ever. We've never had an unchecked despot as CIC. Ball game is different this time around - and the stakes are very high.

There will be chants and back-turning. There will be protest signs and protest shirts. There will be false accusations of rigging and disenfranchisement. It will be disgusting.

Are not these people supposed to be VETTED? Are not these people given instructions on how the process actually works and what their role/purpose is? Are they not informed on how to behave like adults... mature, responsible adults?

I don't think there's going to be much tolerance for it, though I agree that some will certainly try. The whole environment will likely be very different this time, though.

Candidates have approval or disapproval of anyone running to be a delegate. They can also make sure they don't slip in as delegates supporting those that have suspended their campaign. Buttigieg, Warren, Bloomberg, and Klobuchar can make sure that Sanders people don't slip in.

Maybe restrict who can be a vendor on site might be something else.

One of the things I see happening are for his supporters to be gone within the party at local and state levels. I especially see it happening in my county. DNC members like Nina Turner will be gone too.

hence why it was so ugly in 2016. My hope is Bernie will keep his dignity intact and pack it in after tomorrow for the sake of the country, so Biden can focus resources and time on the GE. Bernie is really divisive, one of many things that's so off-putting about him.
