'Approaching storm' leads to venue change for Pete Buttigieg's announcement Sunday

Buttigieg on Friday changed the name of his campaign from "Pete for America Exploratory Committee Inc." to "Pete for America Inc.," according to the Federal Election Commission.

The event, at which Buttigieg is expected to announce officially that he is running in the 2020 election, will be livestreamed on the campaign website, and watch parties have been set up across the country, according to campaign press releases. NBC Chicago will also livestream the announcement on Sunday morning.

'South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg has moved his presidential campaign announcement indoors Sunday because of forecasted weather.

The event will now take place at the former Studebaker Building 84, 635 S. Lafayette Blvd., which overlooks Four Winds Field. It had been planned for outdoors, at the intersection of Michigan Street and Jefferson Boulevard, before forecasts of heavy rain and cold temperatures.

The event will still be open to the public. City officials have said they expect about 10,000 people to attend. It's unclear how many people the building can hold.'

to speak, and his being pelted with rain wouldn't be nearly as picturesque. Imagine his audience will appreciate it also.

If for nothing else, Mayor Pete’s candidacy will be remembered for his emphasis on values and outcomes. Policy is not enough - it’s the mean to an end / improving people’s lived experience, everyday life.
