I'm so tired of people thinking the "rules are changing", the primaries are "rigged", the "establishment is against him", etc.

No, rank and file DEMOCRATS have spoken and they want Joe Biden to represent us the rest of the way.

If he shifts the tone of his campaign. If he wants to promote his agenda in debates, then I’m all for it if he cleans house and gets rid of the bomb throwers who keep lobbing shots at Biden.

Biden will be the nominee. There’s no debate about it. Trying to damage the nominee just for the hell of it then he should drop out. If he calls off the dogs and quits the establishment schtick, (of a party which he is not even a member of), then maybe he shouldn’t have run as a Democrat.

The primaries are over. You might want to start getting used to the idea, because Sanders will likely withdraw in the next day or two. Clyburn was clearly talking about the debates being cancelled in the context of the campaign ending.

especially when doing so effectively denies our pretense of righteous rage, our pretense and irrelevance in regards to changing rules.

As a youth growing up in a southern baptist church, I watched every Sunday morning the practice of literalism lacking context as a horrible enemy of the rational mind. It's best to avoid that doing as such... even if it comforts your narratives.

Trump has badly mismanaged the response to the virus.

Do we really want to risk Biden or Bernie catching the virus as they run through the remaining primaries, when from tonight's results and last week's results, it is next to impossible for Sanders at this point to win the nomination. Clyburn is being a leader, he likely has asked himself whether it is wise for both candidates and their supporters to get a sickness that could kill them.
