Biden campaign has submitted a formal request for USSS protection

A congressional official tells CNN’s @Acosta that the "Big Four Congressional leaders were notified today that the Biden campaign has submitted a formal request for USSS protection." (This is the first significant step in getting approval for Secret Service to take over security for Joe Biden for the duration of his campaign.)

They changed it. Bill Clinton is still under the old protection, though (as is Jimmy Carter).

I agree with it - somehow that went under the radar, probably for obvious reasons.

When I saw Biden among those auto-workers crowding around him, and not one person nearby protecting him, that blew my mind. That right-wing-gun-nut he was talking to could have been packing.
