Sanders files to run in N.J. Democratic primary

Bernie Sanders filed nominating petitions today to run in the June New Jersey Democratic presidential primary.

Joe Biden and Donald Trump have already filed. The deadline is 4 PM on Monday.

Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-Dennis) filed his petitions today, the first time in a nearly 30-year political career that he will run in a Republican primary. He switched parties in December.

Rep. Christopher Smith (R-Hamilton) filed for the 22nd time to seek the GOP nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 4th district.

If he stays in everyone on his staff keeps getting paid. I can't fault him for wanting to take care of his people but now that he has no real path to the nomination, he should put the good of the country before himself. I don't expect him to though. I think we've read this book before.

....who will have to risk their health or even their lives to vote.

He's currently about 300 delegates behind Biden and he is not even close to winning a single one of the remaining 27 primaries/caucuses.

With each passing day his support outside of the zealots in his campaign and "movement" is decreasing.

Seems to think if he keeps coming over and following you around, you’ll change your mind about him. You know, like that creepy psycho stalker who’s sure that you do want him, so he can’t and won’t take no for an answer. You don’t know what you think or want like he does, after all.

Trump wouldn't exist without his followers, and now, it is blatantly obvious Sanders wouldn't even be acknowledged without his followers.

I see more and more comparisons to Bernie, as Trump-Left. The situation is glaringly obvious to everyone but Bernie and his followers, but they are all filled with such grandiose attitudes of self importance......instead of graciously admitting defeat and getting the hell out of the way......and throwing all of their support behind the Democrats choice. Oh, silly me, I forgot, he isn't even a Democrat.
Since he has become rather nasty as of late, I'm going to get nasty. A creature that lives off a host, while giving nothing in return, as well as possibly damaging the host... I believe is called a parasite. For the last month and for three months to come he can only damage the Democrat's candidate's chances of beating Trump.......

Not exactly the Legacy you would like Bernie........

I'm even beginning to wonder if Putin doesn't have something on him too. This is shaping up to be another Ralph Nader/Jill Stein....

To get his ideas into law
As Elizabeth Warren said, she does the work and gets things done
Bernie makes it harder for his ideas to get enacted by not doing everything he can to support the Democratic Party
Bernie should be grateful that the Democratic Party allowed him to run in our primary even though he’s not a Democrat
I think he should be a better guest in the Democratic house

It reminds me of something I heard about the 1972 presidential election:

According to this account, the GOP was afraid that if George Wallace ran again as a third party candidate--as he did in 1968--that he'd take more votes from Nixon than the eventual Democratic nominee (assumed early on to be Muskie). And so Nixon leaned on the IRS to conduct an investigation of Wallace's brother's taxes. Wallace was then approached and told if he ran as a Democrat in the primaries, that the IRS would drop its investigation into his brother. So Wallace ran as a Democrat until he was shot and almost killed.

I tried Googling this but was unwilling to wade through all the material that came up that didn't seem to source this story. I'll try again later--but in the meantime, as you say, "Hmmmmm."
