That's the one word response I give to anyone who would disqualify Bernie for not wearing a D.

(3,259 posts)Manchin has also been a member of the party for some time. Not being a Democrat has been a choice for Sanders. You have presented a fallacy. Fallacies are one of the cornerstones of unethical debate tactics.

(68,556 posts)the Senate without Senators like Manchin. Look at it realistically. Do you ever want another judge confirmed? Time for people to sit down and look at what is possible in a left center country and work hard to change people's hearts and mind while getting what legislation we can. The Democratic Party wins with a big tent approach...it is the only way. I won't vote for Sanders in the primary in part because of the bitterness of the 16 General loss. But I wouldn't anyway because he is not a Democrat. For sure he has my vote should he emerge as the Democratic nominee for president, but then so would Manchin because anyone (and I don't dislike Manchin) is better than Trump. I always vote for the Democratic nominee in every election. And if more did the same, Trump would not be president.

(243 posts)I am not against anyone running. I am however against the DNC allowing Bernie to receive any funds or take any debate platform as long as he is not affiliated with the Democratic Party. These are things to be used to support Democrats, not Independents.
