Sanders Town Hall Finished Third in Ratings

CNN's Town Hall featuring Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) delivered 1.4 million total viewers for the network, finishing third in its 8:00 p.m. timeslot behind Fox News and MSNBC Monday night, according to Nielsen Media Research.

In total viewers, Fox News Channel's "Tucker Carlson Tonight" delivered 2.964 million viewers at 8:00 p.m. ET to finish first in the timeslot, followed by "All In With Chris Hayes" with 1.784 million.

In the 25-54 demographic that advertisers covet most, Fox's Carlson registered 561,000 viewers, followed by CNN's Town Hall with 511,000 and MSNBC's Hayes with 326,000.

The Sanders event fared better from a ratings perspective than previous Town Halls the network has offered up in primetime in recent weeks, but was well behind a January event featuring Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) who drew nearly two million viewers.

It’s hard to watch tv in your car during rush hour.

Kamala ‘s Town hall was aired at 7 pm, after rush hour and dinner.

The fact that it aired at 5PM California time didn't affect that many people, particularly since at many places of business on the west coast the first shift begins at 6AM and ends at 3 or 4 PM.
