Bernie's Burlington: The Spark That Spread Around the Country 🔥

Premiered 15 minutes ago
Bernie Sanders shocked the political establishment when he won an election in 1981 by just 10 votes to become mayor of Burlington, Vermont. As mayor, he transformed Burlington into the vibrant city it is today by taking on powerful corporate interests and fighting for working people. He took on real estate developers to protect affordable housing and create the waterfront park. In his eight years as the head of the city, unemployment was historically low, support for small business and community health centers was expanded, and voter turnout doubled. This was the spark that ignited a political revolution around the country.
