(2,593 posts)At the bottom of each of the Democracy Now posts that you consistently post here on DU, you include a Democracy Now ad at the end...web address, times it airs, etc. Part of it states...'Watch our livestream at democracynow.org Mondays to Fridays 8-9 a.m. ET.'
'OUR live stream '...
Are you personally affiliated with Democracy Now?
If so, would this be a conflict of interest?
Just very curious because it seems so 'commercial ' to add this on at the end.
IMHO of course.

(58,698 posts)Just as any other cable news source posted here does.
If you have a specific criticism related to the coverage of a particular subject or issue, then by all means post it.
I know Democracy Now is supported by contributions from it's viewers just as is public television.
The corporate media (all five or six of them) own 90+% of everything the American People see on T.V. hear on the radio or read in publications, they're funded by very wealthy corporations and individuals.
They all have a conflict of interest, but I would rather know what's going on in the world from the ground up as opposed to just the top down.

(2,593 posts)to 'MAGA' to me especially since I have gone through my screen shots and archive.org postings from 'the dark time' where Russian disinformation was pushed by Democracy Now and various DUers...many still here.
That ad at the end makes me very uncomfortable even understanding you are not directly connected with them.
Others may think so too since no other links I see are so 'pushed'. Again IMHO....and maybe others.
Have a great day.

(58,698 posts)*rump's wet dream of MAGA came out with their bullshit of "fake news."
That was just a case of politically appropriating what was already known, and the corporate media were only too happy to go along.
To my way of thinking the corporate media's journalistic malpractice goes back to "Al Gore invented the Internet" slanders and libels being just one small example of the primary reason that the 2000 race was close enough for Bush to steal.
The corporate media knew the truth about Al Gore's legislative contributions to the Internet as well as the fight against global warming.
They also knew that if they could paint the primary political champion in the fight against global warming as being a chronic exaggerator at best, then global warming must be a hoax as well, so let's have someone intricately tied to the fossil fuel industry be President.
The corporate media did the same thing with the issue of climate change as they did tobacco, it's all about who gives them the Benjamins.
Now if Democracy Now is causing you some emotional discomfort, it might be because of what the corporate media is NOT telling you.
I believe that people are most adept at critical thinking when given full information, and I believe Ron DeSantis knows that well, that's why he's into book burning.
