'Dumpster fire:' Kristi Noem cuts book tour short after disastrous week - All In - MSNBC

“The book rollout has been an unmitigated disaster, the worst I've seen in a while. In fact, I didn't even know it was possible anymore in American politics to have as bad of a week as Kristi Noem has had,” says Chris Hayes. - Aired on 05/10/2024.

2. Too late. She about done all the damage she can do to herself. Her only and it's a long shot ...

... is to admit wrong and beg forgiveness. Then she can segue-way into hosting a program on PTL.

3. She has no intention of admitting she was wrong (and unspeakably cruel)

All she's done is double down and get into fights on interviews - which she now has chosen to cancel.

7. She was likely thrilled with the sudden attention, but it never dawned on her that it would be universally negative

IMHO she gives off definite serial killer vibes to me. I mean like Chris said, why would she put how the workers described her behavior to her father in the book? It's like she was proud they were frightened she might shoot them?

Also she said the dog tried to bite her, and she thought a dog that would bite people is too dangerous. My question is then did it actually bite or try to bite anyone else or just her? If she says it bit other people, I would like to see that confirmed by those people. Plus unless she is a certified master dog trainer how did she know it was untrainable?

These Magats are sick, scary, cretins. I won't apologize for praying to God every night to deliver us from their evil.

5. Well said! And all we have is her own word for any of these claims

And after getting into arguments on recent interviews, she's taken to canceling them. I have no idea what she expected after confessing publicly to animal cruelty, but it's now turned her into a well deserved pariah.

8. Not only is she cruel, but clueless as to her own cruelity.

The good news is that she can't run for governor in 2026, since she is in her 2nd term and is term limited.
She really wants to be Trump's VP pick, but it looks like that was just one more thing she shot in the face in that gravel pit.

I had no idea that she was termed out. I've never been to South Dakota and she said in interviews that what she did is the way things are done in rural areas. But Texas Paul, of Meidas Touch fame, also lives in a rural area and he took issue with her contention, said that veterinarians are plentiful in rural areas like his and that if an animal is deathly ill, they'd readily stop at the home and put them down mercifully.

I'm in New York and we have pretty tough animal protection laws here and the vet offices I've been to actually have signs stating that it's policy to refuse to put down a healthy animal. And I asked my closest vet, who has a small rural practice, and he said that "you'd be surprised at the animals I've found homes for." There's even an Animal Emergency Clinic for those who have health emergencies past regular vet hours.
