The Plot To Discredit Liberal Democracy Exposed - Thom Hartmann

Ohio Attorney General David Yost misrepresented the state’s constitutional amendment protecting reproductive rights before it passed, and is now doing it again after the fact using opposite arguments. So which is the truth? The lesson is that the right will stop at nothing to limit a woman’s right to choose, no matter what voters have to say at the polls. - Aired on 05/07/2024.

2. Which makes absolutely no sense because the vast majority of citizens are pro-choice

That's the main thing I do not understand about the far right - today's version of the Republican party - those elected to Congress are supposed to represent the people in their states/districts, make life better for the people - but instead this version of the Republican party want to take rights AWAY from the American people. So much for "small government."

4. Well, I'm old enough to remember Reagan who exemplified the Republican party of the time

He was pro-immigration, extremely tough on Russia ("Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" ) and signed on to support President Clinton's Assault Weapons Ban - along with the other two living former presidents, Carter and Ford. The current majority of Republicans have taken on TFG's prejudices and irrational opinions - along with his unfamiliarity with the Constitution which they all took an oath to uphold.

And certainly bears no resemblance to "the party of Lincoln" which they like to say. It no longer represents any of their constituents unless they share the bigotry and rejection of democracy on which this country was founded like TFG.
