I've read two of Nance's books and consider him a patriot. That he speaks Arabic is important right now. But my ears prick up when Nance calls the war the 'Israel-Palestinian War'. I'm not sure why he said it, but I doubt it's as simple as a mistake.

I've no faith in Netanyahu embracing the "grand bargain" idea, either. Even if he did, creating a new Palestinian state would take years and a lot of international pressure on neighboring Arabic states to spend time, money and skill to make it happen.

If anyone understands and can explain what's really going on, he's the one to do so. And of course a two-state solution has always been the end game, but has anyone made even an effort to work to make progress toward achieving this? The last ones who I remember were U.S. Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.
