Biden Revisits His Past in Interview With Howard Stern

(New York Times) In a surprise interview on “The Howard Stern Show” that lasted for more than an hour, Mr. Stern, a skilled interviewer versed in the art of oversharing, repeatedly asked Mr. Biden to revisit the stories of love and loss that have defined his public image. At the end of Friday’s sit-down, Mr. Stern praised Mr. Biden, listing off the president’s policy wins and praising his ability to overcome tragedy. “I know you’d be a good father to the country, and I want to thank you for providing a calming, influential and organized administration,” Mr. Stern told Mr. Biden.

Secretary Buttigieg and Black mayors preview transportation projects designed to heal historic inequities

(CNN) Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Friday joined Black mayors from across the nation to preview the work his department is doing to bring transportation projects to their communities to correct historic wrongs. The projects, made possible through the Biden administration’s $3.3 billion “Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods” program, were among the issues discussed at the annual African American Mayors Association Conference in Atlanta. More than 130 grants have been awarded across 41 states to improve the lives of residents negatively impacted by decades-old transportation structures, according to Buttigieg.

UK forces may be deployed on the ground in Gaza to help deliver aid

(BBC) British troops could be deployed on the ground in Gaza to help deliver aid via a new sea route, the BBC has learned. The US has said no American forces would go ashore and an unnamed "third party" would drive trucks along a floating causeway onto the beach. The UK is understood to be considering tasking British troops with this when the aid corridor opens next month. Whitehall sources said no decision had been made and the issue had not yet crossed the prime minister's desk. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Israeli army declined to comment.

"At that moment," Noem adds, "I realized I had to put her down." Alyssa Farah Griffin, the former White House communications director turned critic of the former president, posted on X, previously called Twitter: "I'm a dog lover and I am honestly horrified by the Kristi Noem excerpt. I wish I hadn't even read it. A 14-month-old dog is still a puppy and can be trained. A large part of bad behavior in dogs is not having proper training from humans.
