Slovak PM says EU, NATO members weighing sending troops to Ukraine

Several EU and NATO members are considering military deployments to Ukraine, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico claimed on Monday.

Speaking ahead of a meeting of EU and NATO national leaders in Paris on Monday to debate collective Western strategy on Ukraine, Fico cited a "restricted document" listing topics to be discussed in Paris that "sends shivers down your spine."

"These topics," he said, "imply that a number of NATO and EU member states are considering sending troops to Ukraine on a bilateral basis."

Hutchinson says Trump wants to wrap up nomination soon 'because he knows the storm clouds are gathering over him'

Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R) said on Sunday he thinks former President Trump wants to wrap up the nominating process quickly because he sees certain warning signs looming that could threaten his path to the candidacy.

In an interview with MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart, Hutchinson mentioned as potential threats the multiple court cases against him, the financial fines and fees he must pay, and the nearly 40 percent of South Carolina GOP voters who voted for Haley over Trump.

“I think what Donald Trump is trying to do is to wrap this nomination up very quickly because he knows the storm clouds are gathering over him with the multiple court cases, with the financial judgments against him, and with 40 percent of the Republican base saying we want an alternative,” Hutchinson said.

Hutchinson, who suspended his own campaign for president last month and endorsed Haley, pointed to the party convention as an opportunity to emerge with a different candidate.

Asked whether he would support Trump if Haley dropped out of the race, Hutchinson said, “Well, I’m not going to support a convicted felon.”

TOPLINE Nearly three-fourths of avid Taylor Swift fans are white, and roughly half of her supporters are millennials, live in the suburbs and are Democrats, according to a Morning Consult survey published Tuesday, giving demographic insight into the Swifties, one of the most dedicated fan bases in the industry.


KEY FACTS
Some 53% of U.S. adults said they were fans of Swift, and 16% identified themselves as “avid” fans of the star.

Of avid fans, just 44% identified themselves as “Swifties,” the name given to members of Swift’s fanbase. Among avid fans, 74% are white, compared to 13% who are Black, 9% who are Asian and 4% who are members of other races.

Some 45% of avid fans are millennials, people between the ages of 27 and 42, while 23% are baby boomers, 21% are Gen Xers and just 11% are members of Gen Z—those 26 and under.

A slim majority, 55%, of avid Swift fans are Democrats, compared to 23% who are politically independent and 23% who are Republicans.

Her fanbase is evenly split across genders: 48% is male, and 52% is female, according to the survey.
