Does it not occur to these right wing assholes that Charles Manson had a defense counsel, John Wayne Gacy had a defense counsel, David Berkowitz had a defense counsel, Jeffrey Dahmer had a defense counsel, and this Former President of the United States of America performed acts so indefensible that he cannot find a lawyer who will stay with him, so how can they be so bold as to defend this clearly morally-indefensible behavior, when mass murderers have no problem finding a firm of lawyers to perform their duties?

Have you noticed recently that in all the cable shows, NPR, Network News shows and the like, the moderator will ask a question and the guest prefaces his or her answer with the statement: “That is a really good question...” or “I’m glad you asked that particularly insightful question...”
That’s a version of what we used to call logrolling: Norman Mailer would review Philip Roth’s book in the New York Review of Books and two months later Philip Roth would review Norman Mailer’s book. Both VERY positive reviews.

I'm signed up on like 15 lists for my vaccine...I'm 1a and have four...count 'em four predisposing issues which are of concern if I were to contract COVID-19. i see about 60 people a day in my practice and have been looking for an appointment. As an aside, my own doctor called me two weeks ago asking me if I knew anywhere he could get a vaccine, that's how disorganized things are here in Philly.
So I'm deleting my emails for the week and I see one with a title:

For some reason, I opened it and lo and behold it was an invitation to attend the Phila Convention Center for a vaccine...TODAY, 9:30-12:30. I opened it...no lie, at 12:29. Of course the irony, right...not that i could drive 60 miles in 60 seconds, but you get the idea. If the title had been VACCINE or APPT FOR VACCINE i'd have seen it among the 350 or so emails I receive in a day. But noooooooo.......
Sissy dood crap. And yes...it's my own damn fault for not assuming that everything is totally fucked up.

I used to Listen to him all night on Mutual radio when he would interview stars in a Miami Beach hotel lobby. I had terrible insomnia and enjoyed his show. This was long before all night cable.
The Q movement reminds me of something that happened a long time ago
When I was a kid, some humorous individual wrote a parody the premise for which was that the nakedness of animals was obscene, since their private parts are exposed. A decent-sized movement grew in which the individuals wished to have laws passed forbidding nakedness of animals in public.
The amazing thing was, like in the era of Trump, most people knew someone who was intrigued by this movement and considered becoming or became adherents.
The Q hoax (there’s that word again!) took advantage of the mental rubes and is not atypical historically. There was a book in the 60’s entitled “Rumor, Fear, and the Madness of Crowds”. In it, there were many examples of frankly irrational and destructive behavior due to faulty belief systems.
There’s nothing new under the sun.
The press secretary should start the briefing
By saying: “Before I begin I wish to state for the record that President Biden’s inauguration had the largest crowd ever. Period.”
People would get a good laugh and get the tension out of the air.

Obama should walk up to Biden right before it starts , shake his hand and say: “This is a big fucking deal.”
Does anyone else remember that in 1993, when President Clinton was inaugurated, stepped out onto the portico of the WH and the Marine Band immediately began playing the Sousa March that was the theme from Monty Python’s Flying Circus?
