STOP the petty attacks on Democratic candidates.

Stop nitpicking about minor issues whole our country and the world are in this much peril.

The mischaracterizations of Joe Biden's minor gaffes remind me of the lies and innuendo spread about Hillary Clinton's health in 2016. Stop it.

The outcome of this will be Trump's re-election. Just stop.

Donald Trump represents the opposite of everything I was taught to value - by Republicans.

When I was growing up in rural Ohio in the 1960s and 70s, most of the institutions in my community - the schools, churches, civic organizations and local government - were controlled by conservative white Christian Republicans.

In school, church, 4-H meetings, scout troops, and meetings of the local Rotary, Lions, etc. the message was consistent: work hard, defend our nation, praise God, perform public service, be honest and respectful and law-abiding.

I didn't agree with a lot of their opinions about the war in Vietnam, civil rights, women's rights, rock music, and the length of people's hair. HOWEVER, the bedrock principles of right and wrong seemed to be universally agreed upon, even when we disagreed vehemently on how to manifest them. In other words, Nixon was not praised for being a crook. His supporters simply insisted that he was misunderstood.

Trump is appalling, but far more appalling is that the Republican Party has embraced him, rejecting EVERY SINGLE VALUE they claimed to hold dear.

The Republican Party needs to be held to account for this. I will never again allow any Republican to lecture me on any Democrat's morals or patriotism.

The Republican Party stands for nothing. Nothing.

I miss the 90s

I've missed the 70s for years and now I realize that I miss the 90s too.

I can release 10 years of my tax returns this afternoon.

My annual tax returns are stacked in a box in my closet. If I needed to release them, all I'd have to do is take them to Kinko's to be copied.

Why hasn't Bernie Sanders released 10 years of tax returns?

Trump is taking billions from defense and giving it to... who?

Who will be the recipient of the contracts to build the wall?

Trump is taking that money from the Department of Defense. It's taxpayer money, being diverted from national defense, to pay who?

Ask your senators and representatives this question.

Trump is weak. The Republicans are even weaker.

Trump is going to have to cave on his "wall" money.

He and the Senate Republicans shut down the government and the American people blamed them for doing it, meaning that a little bit of reality is getting through to a lot of people, and that's the beginning of the end for this gang of criminals.

The Republicans know that they can't shut the government down again this week. They're going to have to accept a deal with the Democrats and Trump is going to have to accept it.

Trump and the Republicans will get less from this deal than from the bipartisan spending bill that Trump rejected in December.

In politics, this is a huge loss. The Republicans bet everything they had and they lost.

Trump is used to losing. All his businesses fail. Losing is familiar territory for Trump. He'll just continue to lie and bluster his way to the next "deal," on his way to his next loss.

The Republican Party is not used to losing something this big. They can't be happy about a fail of this magnitude. And there's nothing bright ahead. It's tax season and the middle class is mad at them. The Democratic-controlled House is poised to investigate...everything.... and at the very least that will keep the Republicans on the defensive.

Watch out for a false flag operation.

Bernie Sanders just sent me an email.

Naturally, I was curious. Would Sanders address why he didn't show up yesterday for a Senate vote to continue sanctions against a Russian criminal?

Or was Sanders writing to tell me what he learned during his hour-long meeting yesterday with more than two dozen former staffers who accuse his campaign of "sexual predation?"

Nope. Sanders' long email to me was a complaint about public education in California. I don't live in California.

Gay rights are civil rights.

LGBTQ people deserve the same civil rights as straight people. I'm sad that this is even a question but apparently it is again for some people.

As a lesbian, I will be blunt. If a candidate doesn't think that I deserve the same rights as straight people, then they don't have my support. Period.

If you try to bully or intimidate me into agreeing that my rights are lesser, I WILL get mad.

I think that DUers know that I'm a strong supporter of human rights for everybody. This is not a zero sum game. We stand together, united, and that's where our strength lies. I will NEVER agree with separating some minorities from others or creating separate, lesser categories for some people.

White Americans need to find some courage.

I'm white. In fact, by heritage I'm what they used to call a WASP: White Anglo-Saxon Protestant.

Right now, I'm looking at my fellow white Americans and I'm seeing a whole bunch of sniveling cowards. Wimps. Scaredy cats who are afraid of "caravans" of desperate poor people who are literally walking through Mexico. Walking! Carrying toddlers! And many of my fellow white Americans find this so terrifying, they fell all over themselves rushing to the polls yesterday to vote for white politicians who promise to meet this existential threat to America with military weapons and razor wire and concentration camps.

I read about one white woman in the upper Midwest (which is a long way from Mexico, I checked) who is so terrified, she's convinced that the "caravan" will take over her lake house. That level of panic over nothing is usually met with polite suggestions that the person get some therapy. Maybe somebody should call social services, request a wellness check. But no! Republican politicians are running on this shit because we have allowed it to become normalized.

I call on my fellow white Americans to speak up. Implore your friends and relatives who are behaving in this foolish manner to get some help.

For heaven's sake, stop rewarding and enabling this behavior. It's destroying our democracy.

Let's prosecute sitting Republicans.

It's much easier to win elections when your opponent is not already sitting in the position.

Republicans know this. That's why they got rid of powerful Democratic leaders years ago. The Republicans launched ethics investigations and broke the Democratic power in Congress.

We need to do the same, especially now that Democrats control the House.

Think of how much easier it would have been for Beto to win if he hadn't been running against a sitting senator. Lock up Ted Cruz.

Go after Rebulblicans who are vulnerable to ethics investigations - I'm sure that includes all of them at this point - and destroy the careers of Republican incumbents.

This is how Republicans got control of Congress.
