...this kind of talk is de rigueur on incel/MRA/PUA discussion forums. "Pink-haired lesbian SJW" is an incel cliché at this point. Isn't it nice to know that incel and alt-right language is now seemingly acceptable discourse for a former (and possibly future) US President?
Wow...that name is a blast from the past. I didn't know Hagee was still alive!
He reminds me of the late Jack van Wimpy...er...Van Impe. Probably only Gen-Xers and those even older will remember him, though. His wife Rexella was a real trip as well. Sunday nights they would always be on to tell everyone how Armageddon was just around the corner, and the following week it would be like they had never said a word about it, followed by brand new predictions about the end of the world.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give that a try.
Hi, everyone...just wondering if there might be a streaming link other than the WRS address posted.
I'm looking for a streaming URL address to which I can point my media player. The White Rose Society address comes back "connection refused" when I try it. My media player must be OK because I can use other streaming addresses without any problems. I'm hoping that someone might have an address so that I might use a media player, phone, etc. It's sometimes a hassle to always need a browser open to listen to Mike Malloy, especially if I'm on the go. Thanks in advance!
I think she got tombstoned over there...
...or otherwise flamed out in some dramatic way. I lurked at JPR for a while and saw some kind of flameout go down.
Who knows. Here's more from that article.
https://www.post-gazette.com/news/transportation/2023/02/10/east-palestine-train-derailment-video-fire-axle-alert/stories/202302100070Investigators are now examining what happened when the train, with its axle on fire, passed through the detector in Salem 20 miles and more than an hour before arriving in East Palestine.
There is supposed to be a preliminary report in 30 days.
Sorry, you'll have to look for it. I saw it somewhere this weekend, I think on a TV station site.
The axle looked like it was either on fire or melting.
Phosgene, HCl, CO, CO2, and numerous other things. It sounds like...
...blowing holes in the tankers and doing a controlled burn was the best of several really bad options. Vinyl chloride is really terrible stuff. My understanding is that it can only go on special hazmat trains with trained personnel. The real question is why the railroad infrastructure has been allowed to get this bad. There is video of the train with an axle basically melting down. The axle triggered a "defect detector" but for some reason the train did not immediately stop to inspect.
Yep...a lithium battery fire brought down a UPS cargo plane.
UPS Flight 6 (2010) was a 747-400F that crashed in Dubai due to an in-flight fire. It was the first fatal plane crash for UPS.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UPS_Airlines_Flight_6
The investigation found that a cargo pallet containing tens of thousands of lithium batteries caught fire. It is extremely difficult to put out such a fire, particularly on an airplane. Apparently the onboard fire suppression has not kept up with the threats posed by new technologies.
I remember a chem professor once told me that his advice for anyone facing a lithium fire was "a good pair of running shoes".
Yes, that's correct. JPII really got the party started with the diocese-packing. That led to...
...a lot of other knock-on effects. As the favored ultraconservatives began getting the big promotions, many went along with the new party line whether they agreed or not. The reactionary turn in the Church attracted billionaire money from people like Tom Monaghan, and these two trends reinforced each other. Pretty soon we had reactionary publishers, media networks like the execrable EWTN, and phony radtrad "colleges" for neurotic parents who wanted to silo their kids off from "modernity" (Christendom College, Franciscan University, etc.).
A good illustration of just how much times have changed is to look at the activities of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) over the years. In the mid-1980s, the USCCB released pastoral letters on topics such as the arms race and economic justice. By 2011, the USCCB was attacking same-sex marriage with slick, Hollywood-style videos like Marriage: Unique For A Reason, which can charitably be described as patronizing (at best). The reactionary archbishop of the Twin Cities at the time (John Nienstedt) organized a mass mailing of more than 400,000 DVDs to Minnesotans before Election Day 2010, calling for a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage. (It failed).
