keep_left's JournalA Pulitzer is waiting for any reporter that can explain what happened to Heritage.
At one point in history, they led the "Reagan revolution". Now they sound just like the radtrad idiots on EWTN--or worse! For those of us of a certain age (Gen X) who can remember the Heritage Foundation of the '80s, the progression (or regression) is really mindblowing.
Yeah, it's pretty clear that Tesla used the wrong grade of stainless for the Cybertruck.
The question is...why? They certainly have engineers with a chemistry background, and even if they didn't, their suppliers would be happy to help. I wonder if the stainless they really needed was impractical or impossible to use for their purpose (too heavy, impossible to machine, etc.).
Someone here mentioned that the DeLorean cars also corrode. I have done a lot of paint work, and I am pretty sure that it's not possible to clearcoat something like stainless without some kind of interposing layer. For example, aluminum requires a conversion coating; those used to contain very toxic and carcinogenic Cr(VI) compounds. These days, far less toxic metals are used, like Cr(III). And in less stringent applications, "etching primer" is the first coat. Those primers usually contain silicates. Without such priming, the clearcoat (or any topcoat) will eventually start flaking off and may even begin to lift off entirely.
In general, it's hard to get paint to stick to bare metal, especially when that metal is rather inert, like stainless or aluminum. And most conversion coatings and primers are either strongly colored or opaque, which defeats the "look" of a Cybertruck or a DeLorean.

And when he *is* finally forced to pay--say because he needs legal representation...
...and they require cash in hand--Trump pays them with other people's money (his moronic followers). Last year, Trump spent $50 million on lawyers because he just can't stop criming.

In the USA, we tolerate social conditions (especially in the schools) that few...
...other nations would tolerate. That's not to say other countries don't have their problems, especially with education, but some of the things I've seen are just beyond the pale. Then we've also had 40 years of "think" tank attacks on public schools, with the ultimate goal of destroying the whole system.
"Ellie 2.0" show on AM950 KTNF calls for Biden to step down.
This just happened this afternoon; the show hasn't been posted online yet. I don't know how long it takes before that happens.
The link for the show is: https://www.am950radio.com/events/ellie-2-0/
The host (Ellie Krug) made a not-so-great analogy to LBJ's surprise announcement of March 1968 ( "I will not seek, nor will I accept nomination..." ) and called for an RFK-style "idealist" to run in place of Biden.
These morons don't realize Civil War 2.0 has been wargamed repeatedly...
...over the years by military historians. I remember reading about it here on DU. The wargames always seemed to conclude the same way--there were few actual "battles"; instead the conflict bogged down into a stalemate when it didn't end up in guerilla campaigns reminiscent of Central America in the 1980s. One ominous outcome was that when the stalemate got bad enough (like Stalingrad levels of bad), out came the unconventional weapons. Anyone remember the movie Wargames, about the Pentagon computer war simulation? Because if Civil War 2.0 actually occurred, we all might get a front-row seat for scenarios like "Theaterwide Biotoxic and Chemical Warfare" and "Theaterwide Tactical Nuclear War".
MAGA preacher Andrew Wommack thinks Civil War 2.0 would be "worth it".
Wommack founded the "Charis Bible College" in Colorado Springs (where else?) and hosts the moronic "Truth and Liberty" show. A video clip can be found at the Right Wing Watch link (below). The clip is from Wednesday evening.
Wommack went on to say that if Trump gets back into the White House, the U.S. could very well face another civil war, which Wommack said would be worth having if it would turn this nation back to God and the Constitution.
If Trump gets back in, there are people that are saying that they will physically fight, Wommack stated. Ive actually had people say that if Trump was to be elected, if we got a conservative Congress, that they fear that we would have another civil war. And you know what? I dont want a civil war. I dont know anybody that does, but would it be worth it to turn this nation back? I believe it would.

Hi, ralps...

Here's the link for anyone using a web-connected audio player (hardware or software). I can't get the other links to work. The White Rose Society stream appears to be down for good.
