Earth's population has exceeded 8 billion. Will "pro-lifers" soon be demanding universal abortion?

Scientists differ greatly on how many human beings the Earth can sustain. How much fresh water is needed? How much food can be bred and grown? How much edible wild life from the land and seas can our planet supply us with?

No one is sure of the answers to these questions. But IMO, within the next few decades, shortages of ... everything, will become the norm. And if I'm right, how will this affect us politically?

I guess the most ironic thing I foresee is the change of tune among "pro-life" extremists. As we're seeing right now, getting an abortion, for any reason in many red states has been turned into an impossibility. But what if world overpopulation starts affecting everyone on a daily basis? My guess is the "pro-life" extremists will be among the first demanding that abortion be made the law of the land. In fact, they'll adjust their "religious beliefs" to justify universal abortion.

But the hypocrisy of anti-abortionists aside, I truly believe that the human species must adopt some form of population control. The alternative is the kinds of starvation we see in many corners of the world. Does anyone really want to live on a planet where people will kill over a slice of bread or a sip of water?

There is, of course, another solution to a world that can't sustain 8 billion people. Genocide on an unimaginable scale. I think some would opt for that. (Think Trump, Putin, billionaires, etc.)

Then again, climate change may solve the problem for us. After all, humanity has spent over a century fucking up Mother Nature.

Hatred

To me, that single word describes today's Republican Party.

They want revenge. Why? -- Hatred.

They want to rid the country of all non-white "Christians." Why? -- Hatred.

They want a country in which all hold the same beliefs. -- Umm, sorry, this is where their hatred takes them. No two people will think and believe exactly the same way. So what does that result in? -- Hatred of everyone who doesn't think and believe exactly the same.

What will destroy them? -- Hatred.

But they'll probably take the rest of us with them.

This is what we're up against. And even if we win the whole enchilada next year, it will only increase Republican hatred.

They aren't going away. The fight for freedom is a lifelong battle. It always has been.

The House is getting ready to impeach Joe Biden, but they can't tell us why.

Perhaps Joe was seen jay walking when he was a kid. Jay walking is against the law. And the fact that a president committed it? Horrors!

America's House of Representatives is currently under the control of crazy people. They want to impeach Joe Biden because they can. There's no other reason.

This act of insanity by the House is just a symptom of how sick our country has become. The fact that their are so many weirdos, nuts, and outright lunatics in the Republican Party is proof that America has become a dysfunctional madhouse.

Next November, we need a blue tsunami from the presidency on down. It must happen. If our opponents/enemies win or steal it, America is over.

Tomorrow is December 7th. On this day in 1941, we were attacked at Pearl Harbor

In retrospect, it may have been what was needed to stop fascism from taking over the world.

Germany, Japan and Italy (The Axis) were the three allies who believed they could own the entire planet. For the most part, the United Kingdom was all that was standing against them.

Franklin Roosevelt recognized the danger to the entire world, but was being held back because most people thought we shouldn't get involved in another world war. December 7th changed that.

We declared war on Japan on December 8th, and Japan's ally, German, declared war on us.

We all know how it turned out. The ambitions of world-wide fascism were defeated.

But it's back. And this time, half of Americans are on the side of THE AMERICAN FASCIST PARTY, who like to call themselves The Republican Party. Next year's presidential election will decide whether fascism will control America and the rest of the world. Or whether democracy will hold, and eventually spread to all.

Abraham, Martin and John ... and Bobby. -- But then there's Donald.

It seems to me that the human species is self destructive, and perhaps an inexplicable mistake by whatever universal intelligence/awareness may exist.

This small rock in space is our home and provides for all of our needs. Yet, there have always been those among us who desire far more than their needs. They want it all. They are different from us and have been incredibly successful at steering us off the path of sanity. And, as a result of them, the one thing that humanity has excelled at, for thousands of years, is death.

All human discoveries, from fire, to spears, to splitting the atom, have been turned into instruments of destruction. And of course, AI will follow that well traveled path.

Those who saw the reality and truth of what our species is capable of, and the direction we should have taken, have always been eliminated. And those who want it all, have always triumphed, for a while.

So let's get real. What does Donald Trump (and those who own him) want? They want more. They want it all.

We, --all of us, -- have allowed a minority driven by greed, to put the environment of our planet on the edge of disaster. And we've allowed them to own the thoughts and beliefs of those who can't understand what's best for their own well being.

So here we are. We've poisoned our world's environment and have precious little time to turn it around. And America, the world's best hope for fulfilling the concept of universal freedom, is teetering on the edge of the unthinkable, which may come to be next November.

What can we do to change the course in which the momentum of history seems to be taking us? I don't have an answer. But I can say that each and every one of us must do anything and everything we possible can to make a difference. We've all learned to recycle that which diminishes our environment. -- It's past time to recycle the madness that has our world by the throat.

Muslim/Arab Americans start an anti Joe Biden campaign. I guess they'd prefer a madman deciding their fate.

Whatever problem Muslims have with Biden, opposing him is helping Trump no matter how you view it. And if Trump wins/steals the presidency, many/most of them may be deported at best, or end up in camps at worst. (And even worse, they may be death camps. If you find that statement extreme, check out a bit of 20th Century history.)

Muslim Americans in several swing states are scheduled to gather in Michigan on Saturday to start a campaign they're calling #AbandonBiden, a reflection of their outrage over President Biden's handling of the Israel-Hamas war.

Why it matters: Arab American and Muslim American anger could hurt Biden's re-election prospects in most of the 2024 swing states he won in 2020, as those groups have been heavily Democratic.

How often have we heard "The Constitution Isn't a Suicide Pact"

Evidently, given everything that Trump has done and is still doing every minute of every day, we are deluding ourselves that the Constitution will protect us against a full out fascist attack on America. Playing by the rules is useless when your enemies don't recognize any rules.

Even if we can win next year's general election, there's still the electoral college. And there are also red states that have bought into the "Members of the state legislature choose who gets the state's electoral votes" argument.

We Dems are still putting our pants on, while Republican lies are spreading around the world. And are being bought into by a vast number of American voters who don't know any better, or are just plain brain dead.

Many MSM and TV pundits are finally saying out loud that our democracy is hanging by a thread. And it is.

We're counting on the American electorial system to save us. But that system has all too often been abused.

(For example: Ex Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Conner, who just died, was the fifth vote on the court to APPOINT George W. Bush the President of the United States.) Where the fuck in the Constitution does it say that the Supreme Court gets to appoint a president?

I wish I had all the answers, but I don't. And if you're not sitting up worrying if democracy will exist after next November's election, you perhaps don't see the threat,

So here we are, three years after an attempted coup d'etat. And those who tried it are about to try it again.

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH US?

The NY gag order on Trump was reinstated. So he goes after the Judge's wife.

And if the Judge's wife is added to the gag order, Trump will go after the Judge's dog, or some distant cousin. The only way to shut this prick up is to throw him in a dungeon with no access to a phone.

But even that won't be sufficient, because he'll still have access to a lawyer, through whom he can get his message out to his mindless drones. He's a disease. And the fact that he still might again be president is proof of a deep sickness in our country.

We really need to exile him to a desert island, or another planet.

The war criminal, Henry Kissinger, is finally dead.

The US doesn't have an agreement with The Hague, where war criminals are often put on trial. Nonetheless, Henry Kissinger should have been tried as a war criminal, even if it were in an America court.

Yet, the bastard lived to be 100 and was still "respected as an elder statesman" in many quarters. It's impossible to know how many Americans, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Laotians, and so many other victims of dictators elsewhere, died because of this evil man.

How many names are on that black Vietnam memorial on the mall in Washington DC because of his lies, deceptions and crimes? It's impossible to tell. And how many of hundreds of thousands elsewhere would still be alive if it weren't for this horrible person? I have a deep hatred for him in my heart.

In the film "Apocalypse Now," Robert Duvall delivered the famous line, "I love the smell of napalm in the morning." Evidently, Kissinger loved it at any hour of the day or night.

Here's an obituary of Kissinger's activities while in power. Take the time to read about how many murders one man can be responsible for, yet never be brought to justice.

Did the Civil War ever really end? And who "won?"

For years, there's been a pickup truck driving past my neighborhood with a huge Confederate flag flying from it's bed, alongside a giant American flag.

Occasionally, I'll be behind a car with a Confederate flag bumper sticker, (sometimes alongside a Trump sticker).

And at every Trump rally, there seem to be many Confederate flags waving alongside TRUMP flags and American flags. (And recently, even some Nazi flags have been appearing.)

And then there's the fact the many ex Confederate states are red states who helped make Trump president in 2016.

The cry that "The South Will Rise Again," seems to have become a reality during the Trump presidency.

Combining the fact that Jim Crow seems to be making a comeback, along with the Supreme Court decisions to gut the Voting Rights Act, asking who actually "won" the Civil War seems like a reasonable question these days.

And another reasonable question is, why don't you see many Joe Biden Bumper stickers? Not that I blame anyone for not displaying one. After all, who wants to find their car's window broken, or, in more extreme cases, who wants to get shot at while driving?

Ever since Nixon's "Southern Strategy," the Republican Party, and those who long for the old Confederacy, are now one.

Or, to put it more bluntly, racism, antisemitism, and hatred of "The Other," is now the norm for today's Fascist Party who prefer to call themselves, The Republican Party. The American Civil War never really ended. It's just spread, divided us more, and increased the level of hatred. -- Where we go from here is up to us.
