Here's my concern. How many Democrats will turn out because Trump is on the ballot and they want to defeat him?
And, if Trump isn't on the ballot, will they show up to vote for Democratic House members and Senators who are on the ballot, not to mention all the other down ballot candidates?
I don't know the answer to this. But I do know that we need a blue tidal wave to take control of everything we can.
So again, the question is, will Dems show up to vote if Trump isn't on the ballot?
Why are Republican's such dicks?
I've posted this headline about a dozen times over the years. But, with every passing day, the answer becomes more obvious.
Today's Republican Party was "born" when Lynden Johnson signed the Civil Rights and Voting Right Acts. Until then, most Southern senators and congresspeople were Democrats. However, they knew that to stay in office, they'd have to publicly become the racist pricks they had always been. So they had to switch to the Republican Party.
As of that era, Republicans have consolidated bigotry, racism, and greed into the Republican core principals.
Ronald Reagan, was able to sell much of the odious Republican agenda because he was an amiable man whom most people liked. And also, because he was an imbecile who could be used by those who understood the true agenda.
In effect, he set the stage for Trump who didn't try to hide anything the Republicans were after. We saw much of it during his term as president.
Now he's back and has, publicly, gone full Adolf. "Vermin," "poison our blood," are not accidental phrases. Trump''s handlers have read "Mein Kampf" and they have made sure that those terms were on the teleprompter from which he was reading. Actually, Trump himself is demented and probably belongs in an institution. But those around him know how to use hatred, bigotry, and cruelty to attract his followers we now call MAGA's.
Can Trump's controllers get him to the White House again? Sure looks possible when you're able to rig enough red and purple states.
But the original question remains. "Why are Republicans such dicks?" Seems that the answer is that most are ignorant people who thrive on hate, bigotry and cruelty and love to see a crazed bully crap all over them. And perhaps, far worse than just "crap on them." As I said, he's gone full Adolf. And we all know what that led to.
About Trump's supposed stench.
A few stories about Trump smelling have appeared in various places. But make no mistake about it. This issue can bury Trump''s chances for becoming president, far more than all the federal and state indictments against him. Here are a few examples of what's being published about his odor.
But the most gross statements imaginable came from a former Trump staffer on "The Apprentice," Noel Casier.
"The diapers is not a joke," Casler began.
"He would often soil himself on The Apprentice set. He's incontinent from all the speed, all the Adderall he does, all the cocaine that he's done for decades...His [bowels] are uncontrollable."
Casler claimed that Trump has been wearing diapers since the 1990s and the he had a chance to witness it firsthand in the late 2000s, while working on the set of The Apprentice.
"We'd have to stop the show and change him and that was Keith Schiller's job. He would take him off set, he would wipe him down. Our nickname for Keith was 'Wet Wipes.' It's not a joke. It's happened several times," alleged Casler.
Schiller served as director of security for The Trump Organization and later served as Deputy Assistant to Trump and Director of Oval Office Operations during the Trump presidency.
Casler then went on and listed numerous times in which he believed Trump "evacuated himself" in front of world leaders and U.S. politicians.
Casler also described an alleged incident in which Trump became so full of rage at being unable to read the word "arbitrage" on a cue card during a recording session and "very loudly evacuated his bowels" while screaming on set. Casler claimed he was he was able to smell it and that the stench caused the person holding the boom microphone to "tear up." He also noted that the crew's nickname for Celebrity Apprentice was "The Shitshow" due to these frequent incidents.

Millions want the Nazi-loving prick back in the White House. WTF happened to America?
He's been reading Nazi shit off his teleprompter for months now. We know he doesn't have a clue what Hitler said. -- He doesn't read, or grasp anything aside from his own self-importance. -- Those who use him for their own benefit wrote this crap for him, straight out of "Mein Kampf."
But TFG, and those who want access to the power he can bring them, have discovered that countless Americans are either ignorant of, or totally desire, a country, and perhaps a world, run by a current day Orange Fuhrer.
I have no idea what happened to this country. America was never perfect. Hatred of Black people, Jews, LGBTQs, non-white "Christians," and all "Others" has long existed here and still does. But there was a level of American tolerance held by many, and, until Trump came along, seemed to be improving.
To me, it's inexplicable that millions of Americans are now embracing a neo-Nazi ex-president, and want him back.
Maybe I've outlived the world I once lived in. I've seen that ignorance, and the beliefs of many have somehow, and for some reason, embraced hatred, cruelty, and perhaps even genocide. I don't get it. Can anyone tell me what I've missed and what I'm not seeing?
Trump claims that his Hitler statements are different. Yeah, Hitler's were in German.
Trump has been doubling down on his Hitler statements, -- "Vermin." "Poisoning our blood." -- in the past few weeks. And most of his base loves the Nazi shit he's spewing.
No one should ever again question how Hitler and his thugs came to power in Germany. We're seeing it happen here today. And those of us who "get it," don't have a clue of how to stop these homegrown thugs, which the Federal Oath of Office calls "Domestic Enemies."
Considering the alternative, perhaps it's time for us Democrats to get down in the gutter and fight these barbarians on their own terms. One way or another, they must be pushed back into their caves. They'll never go away. But at the very least, we, (the civilized world), must keep them on the fringes of humanity until our species evolves beyond its current adolescence.
So about Trump's "Dictatorship for only one day."
It's hard to grasp the fact that millions of Trump voters actually buy this crap.
And I don't believe that they are actually buying it. I believe they want a "Dear Leader" who will be in power for as long as it takes to "cleanse" America of the "undesirables," and turn it into the "White "Christian Nation" of their dreams.
Let's do a reality check. Every moron that buys this TrumpShit doesn't understand that they are voting away their own freedoms. They don't understand that they are enslaving themselves to the whims of one madman. They don't understand that his promise of turning our country into some kind of "white, "Christian," pure, American, patriotic, "It's A Wonderful Life" movie set, is a fantasy they're being sold to enslave them. They'll never check their pockets to find out that "Zuzu's petals"aren't there and never were. (Well, you had to have seen the movie.)
Nonetheless, the "Vermin" have to go. And those who are "poisoning America's blood" have to go.
You probably know people who will vote for this. Their incredible ignorance and/or outright stupidity could lead to a hell that we've seen before in this world. And those voters don't understand that, once their usefulness is gone, they will be as expendable as everyone they've been told to hate.

Many here are either too young or don't remember what happened in the 2000 presidential election.
The vote in Florida was very close and recounts went on for many weeks. (This was the Al Gore vs George W. Bush election.)
Republicans claimed that Bush won and the recounting of votes should stop.
The Florida Supreme Court ruled that the counting should continue.
Republicans appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. By a vote of 5 to 4, the U.S. Supreme Court ordered that the counting be stopped.
Sandra Day O'Conner was the 5th Republican vote on the Supreme Court.
In effect, by ordering the recounts to stop, the Supreme Court interfered with the 2000 election. At that point, Bush was ahead by one vote in the electoral college. Gore had over half a million more popular votes. But the ongoing recounts had yet to establish an electoral college vote winner.
By stopping that vote when they did, no one knows what the final outcome would have been. Counts that have taken place afterwards indicate that Al Gore was ahead in the electoral college.
To put this as bluntly as possible, the Supreme Court, in effect, appointed George W. Bush to the presidency. This was a recount in which they had the power (but not the moral right) to interfere. And to make it worse, part of the Supreme Court decision was that their precedent in interfering could not be used in future elections.
Sandra Day O'Conner, you helped to appoint George W. Bush to the presidency. He was soon to lie about Iraq on 9/11 and countless Americans are dead because of your convoluted and inexplicable devotion to the Republican Party.

Joe, you need a "Go for the throat" campaign manager.
You've done much to improve America. Perhaps more than any president in the last 50 years. But using your accomplishments as a winning campaign strategy isn't working. And won't work.
Most people vote based on their emotions. And you are ignoring this at your own peril. And ours.
When people vote, they think about what they're paying at the supermarket, their children's education, the personal safety of their families from whatever imagined threats the Republicans are selling them, their job security, their future prospects, the loss of their current lifestyles, and the fear that, perhaps, you are not the right person to watch over America.
Trump, on the other hand, keeps ensuring voters that he's going to take care of all these threats and "Make America Great Again."
Joe, one of us is underestimating how the ignorance and/or stupidity of the voters in this country. And I hope it's me.
But, just in case it's you, there has to be a way to ensure that you win next year. And one of the surest ways is to appoint a campaign manager who knows how to move people emotionally and scare the hell out of them about a Trump win.
Some will recall that James Carville was Bill Clinton's campaign manager. He invented the phrase: "It's the economy, stupid." And back then, the economy was the major issue of the day.
Well, it ain't today. The main issue facing us is losing our democracy and letting a fascist party, and their "Dear Leader," take over America. You're not focusing on that. But you can bring in a "go for the throat" campaign manager who will.
And I'm sorry to tell you that most voters won't remember your "big picture" accomplishments when they step into the voting booth. They'll cast their ballots based on their fears. Hire a James Carville type "killer," and do it now. The clock's running.
Does Trump want to be Hitler? No. He wants Hitler to be remembered as a Trump wannabee.
The Holocaust occurred during WWII. And incredible as it seems, many Americans of a certain age have never learned about it and don't understand that it actually happened. It happened. Six million Jews, and millions of others, were murdered by Nazis.
Trump admires Putin, Viktor Orban of Hungary, and Kim Jong Un of North Korea. All are mass murderers and no one is sure of the countless deaths they are responsible for. But there is no doubting that these dictators fit the Hitler mold.
Who can doubt that, if Trump wins/steals the White House in 2024, he will follow in their footsteps? And, knowing what we do about him, he won't be satisfied to be Number 2. He must be Number 1.
At the moment, he talks about "contaminating our blood," and "vermin," in reference to immigrants. But does anyone really believe that he would stop there? American Jews, Black people, brown people, LGBTQ's, journalists, artists, educators, free thinkers, political enemies, and every human being who isn't a white, "Christian" nationalist, would be fodder for the his death camps. Yes, death camps. Why would he deport anyone he might have to battle later. Better to rid the world of all the "THEMS," while he can.
This may sound extreme and far "over the top" to many (most?) here on DU. But what if I'm right?
Does any sane person really want to see Trump (or any Trumpist Republican) in the White House? And does anyone really believe that Trump, and the currently insane Republican Party, is incapable of what I've described here?
What if the Republicans manage to win/steal the House, Senate and Presidency next year?
Anyone who doesn't believe that this horrible nightmare is a possibility, isn't paying attention.
Every red and purple state is doing everything possible to suppress the Democratic vote. Their tactics range from "cleansing" voting rolls, to reducing early and absentee voting, to closing polling places in minority areas, to intimidating minority voters from showing up at the polls, to attempting to pass laws that the public's vote for president doesn't matter, because state legislatures will select the representatives to the electoral college.
What all of this crap means is that there are many more of us than there are of them. Republicans know they can't win on a level playing field, so they must stop as many of us as they can from voting, or not having our votes counted.
So back to my OP question. What if they win/steal the whole enchilada?
Many (most?) won't agree with what I'm about to say. It may even seem extreme/crazy to some, but here goes.
I believe that if the current Republican Party, along with their "Dear Leader," control all the levers of power, it's possible that we'll see an ethnic/political "cleansing" on a scale that might exceed "The Holocaust." But the American version of a crime against humanity of this magnitude, would include far more than just America's Jews. Black people, brown people, LGBTQ people, journalists, artists, educators, free thinkers, all non-"Christians," and anyone else who dared to speak out, would be eliminated by some modern means more efficient than large "shower rooms" and ovens.
Does that sound nuts to you? If it does, your not paying attention to what Republicans and "Dear Leader" are saying aloud. They want a white, "Christian," nation. So what do you suppose they're going to do with all the "THEMS?" If they deport everyone, they may have to battle them at some future time. Better just to exterminate the "vermin" they hate and be rid of them for good.
Okay, that's my opinion of one possible future under total Republican rule.
Hopefully, we will win next year in a "Blue Wave." But America's fascists aren't going away. They never do. Our immediate task is to defeat these barbarians, and drive them back into their caves. And our long term goal must be to keep them there.
