silvershadow's JournalWell, that's it. I'm going to incorporate, so I can conduct all my affairs based on *my religious
values (whatever those may or may not be). By the way, not that I agree with them, but what about those people in this world who believe in treating their illnesses at home? The Supremes seem to speak with a forked tongue these days.
Anyone got a flag day graphic with a Democratic message on it?
I need to post a few on FB if I can find it. The pubbies are going wild with Flag Day messages with mentions of Fox, Reagan, etc and I'd like to give them an alternative. Thank you for any you throw my way.
Hoping someone can help. All I need to to create a hotkey (or icon) on my iPhone5s...
for a webpage that doesn't have one. I want it to take me directly to Discussionist. I made one for DU, which works great, but that was a long time ago. I can't remember how I did it now, but it was easy peasy. Got my help on that from someone here, so I hope someone can remind me how. Thank you a bunch!

LOUISVILLE Erin Brock says shes prepared to fight to have her love legally recognized by the state of Indiana.
Brock and her financé Melissa Love share a home and children in Jeffersonville and are one of four same-sex couples from southern Indiana suing Indiana Gov. Mike Pence in federal court to allow them to legally marry or to have their marriages in other states recognized by Indiana.
If I had the chance to talk to the governor, I would say, Its about love, Brock said. And, I get that there are politics that go on, but I dont care. I dont care about that. I care about the fact that I want to love someone for the rest of my life.
While Brock and Love have considered a destination wedding for the opportunity to enjoy their nuptials, the women are willing to delay plans and put up a fight for their right to be wed in their hometown in the company of friends and families.

Meet "Democrat" Kesha Rogers: Worse Than Ted Cruz
Weve pointed out before why Ted Cruz doesnt deserve your vote or political support. However, theres someone else running for office - as a Democrat - who could make it onto the ballot...and makes Cruz look like a stand up citizen in comparison.
Her name is Kesha Rogers and she thinks Obama starting a thermonuclear war is a legitimate concern. So she wants to execute him.
Running for the U.S. Senate as a LaRouche Democrat Rogers has already been rejected by the Democratic Party. The State Democratic Executive Committees released its official party position on Rogers candidacy. The Texas Democratic Party will have no relationship with the campaign of any person identifying him or herself as aligned with the LaRouche Movement or Lyndon LaRouche
Now, being rejected by your own party isnt the greatest thing in the world, but sometimes ideological differences can get in the way. What was this Senate hopefuls ideological difference? Well, to start theres the fact that her main focus is the impeachment of President Obama and that she frequently and easily compares him to Adolf Hitler - a genocidal psychopath responsible for the deaths and systematic oppression of millions of people.

Railroads Agree To Wide-Ranging Safety Measures For Crude Oil Shipments After Derailments
From HuffPo/AP:
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) Railroads that haul volatile crude shipments have reached an agreement with U.S. transportation officials to adopt wide-ranging, voluntary safety measures after a string of explosive and deadly accidents.
A copy of the agreement between the U.S. Transportation Department and the Association of American Railroads was obtained Friday by The Associated Press.
It calls for railroads to slow down oil trains through major cities, increase track inspections and bolster emergency response planning along routes that carry trains hauling up to 3 million gallons of oil each. Those trains travel thousands of miles from oil producing areas, including the Northern Plains, to coastal refineries.
The agreement does not resolve concerns over another fuel, ethanol, that's also seen a spate of accidents as production has increased. Railroads and federal officials said they would address separately a design flaw in tens of thousands of tank cars that make them prone to rupture during derailments.

Breaking: 100 tons of toxic water leaked at Fukushima plant
Source: RT
Around 100 tons of highly radioactive water leaked from one of the tanks at Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, the plant's operator, Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO) said on Thursday.
The water reportedly spilled beyond the barrier that is set up to block it from flowing out of tanks.
A process to stop the radioactive leak is underway. The spill is said to contain 230 million becquerels per liter of strontium and other beta ray-emitting radioactive substances.
TEPCO believes the leakage has not reached the adjacent sea, as no drain was found.

Mark Pryor Comes Out Against Federal Minimum Wage Hike
Source: Huffington Post
Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) has come out against a federal minimum wage increase that has the support of President Barack Obama, Senate Democrats and the majority of the American public.
"I know $10.10 still isnt a whole lot of money, but I think its too much, too fast," Pryor told Bloomberg in an article published Thursday. "Im not supportive of that."
Pryor is the first Senate Democrat to come out against raising the federal minimum wage, which is currently $7.25 per hour. He's currently locked in a competitive reelection battle with Rep. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.). Bloomberg notes that the National Retail Federation and the National Restaurant Association are lobbying against the increase and have contributed to Pryor's campaign.
Arkansas is one of four states with a minimum wage below the federal level, though companies that do more than $500,000 in business each year must pay employees the federal wage, according to the state's Department of Labor. Pryor does back a state ballot initiative to raise Arkansas' minimum wage from $6.25 to $8.50 over three years.

Google slaps phishing warning on misleading GOP website
Source: Daily Kos
This is probably not what the National Republican Congressional Committee was expecting when they decided to make the contribution page on their websites targeting Democratic candidates mimic the Democrats' websites. First, after public backlash, they had to start offering refunds to donors who'd been misled, and now, Google has put a "reported phishing website" warning on at least the anti-Alex Sink site.
That's some digital strategery right there.

I am LMBO right now at them. They are critters, that's for sure.
Net neutrality. Repealing corporate personhood for good. Strengthening Social Security.
Strengthening consumer protection laws. Getting rid of lobbyists. Getting the money out of politics. A real voting rights act.
I could go on and on, and haven't even touched on some of the most important things, really. (Fracking, for example). These should be the Democratic party platform moving forward. I am praying for a Democratic renaissance in 2014 into 2016. If it doesn't happen, I can guarantee the party will split. I, for one, am holding onto hope with my fingernails. I need some hope and change. Yes, President Obama did some great things
he also did some things that make me shake my head. This isn't about him. This is about our future. Individually and collectively.
These things I know:
It can't be Hillary, no matter how hard the media and the Clinton machine want it to be. 'Nuff said on that.
I am lukewarm on Brian Schwitzer
liked him a lot several years ago, but I have some questions, and he needs more vetting.
I would go 100% with Bernie Sanders if he became a Democrat, above all others.
And of course, Elizabeth Warren, if she were ready and able to win.
I am interested if anyone has other ideas I'm missing. Off to take a shower, back in a few.
