The park is named after the Algonquin Indians.

Humane wildlife experts taking a winter bear census right in the hibernation dens. You'll love this, besides the cute precious 6 week old baby bears (eyes still closed) the guy (Rick Mercer) has some of the funniest lines. This is a special video of retagging a mommy bear.

An Amish farmer and the Teabagger...

An Amish farmer is walking through his field when he sees a guy drinking from his pond, scooping it up with his hand.

The farmer says, "Trinken nicht das Wasser, die Kuhe und die Schweine haben in ihm geschissen" (which means, “Don't drink the water. The cows and the pigs have shit in it.”).

The guy shouts back, "I'm a Teabagger, and this is America. I don't understand your gibberish. Speak English, you moron."

The farmer says, "Use two hands. You'll get more."

Michelle Duggar's submissive-wife tips

That is just sickening

Duggar mom's secret to long marriage is wifely submission
If you can't seem to glean any tips for a lasting marriage from "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," there's another reality-TV star who has some wifely words of advice. Michelle Duggar, the unceasingly pregnant mom on (for now) "19 Kids and Counting," has been nabbed handing out pamphlets with nuggets of submissive wedded wisdom. Gems include never bringing up hubby's past failures (it will crush his spirit), looking at him "admiringly when he talks to others," and always "[accepting] him as a leader and [believing] in his God-given responsibilities." In other words, as @StephanieRogers indicates, "a blueprint for the ideal Stepford wife, Self-Replicating Fundamentalist Edition™," and based on the furor over Michele Bachmann's comments, the pamphlets won't win the Duggars any new viewers.

Why do women think they have to be submissive to their husbands? I don't think I would enjoy the company of my wife if she were submissive and looked at me like that.

The Prophet Santorum Once Again Clarifies God’s Will

In spite of the political riskiness of proclaiming his truth as, the truth, Rick Santorum has never shied away from sitting in judgment of those who don’t share his religious values or perspective. Speaking to a crowd at a campaign rally on Friday, Santorum announced:

The “president’s agenda” is “not about you,” he said. “It’s not about you. It’s not about your quality of life. It’s not about your job. It’s about some phony ideal, some phony theology. Oh, not a theology based on the Bible, a different theology, but no less a theology.”

The predominately conservative crowd roared their approval

Then of course, Santorum’s campaign team went into damage control. Knowing full well that the conservative Catholic presidential candidate had just publicly raised the specter of Barack Obama not being a ‘real’ Christian, his National Communications Director, Hogan Gidley quickly got out a statement to the media:

“The President says he’s a Christian and Rick believes that and has even said so publicly many times. Rick was talking about the President’s belief in the secular theology of government and how believing that theology is dangerous because government theology teaches that it’s perfectly fine to take away our God-given rights and freedoms.”

Speaking Sunday morning on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” Santorum himself tried a little sanctimonious damage control of his own:

“I accept the fact that the president is a Christian. But when you have a world view that elevates the Earth above man and says we can’t take those resources because its going to harm the Earth, it’s just all an attempt to centralize power and give more power to the government.”

Santorum believes that Obama believes in 'phony theology'

Well there they go again, just making shit up...

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Rick Santorum took his rhetoric to a new level, trying to attack President Barack Obama over the controversy between religious freedom and contraception.

"It's not about you. It's not about you," Santorum said at a Tea Party rally, directing his comments at the president. "It's not about your quality of life. It's not about your job. It's about some phony ideal, some phony theology. Oh, not a theology based on the Bible, a different theology, but no less a theology."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At a media availability following his address to the Ohio Christian Alliance here, Santorum, the candidate with the momentum in the GOP race for president, faced a barrage of questions about the comments.

Do the Republicans plan on talking about contraception for the next 9 months?

Do they really think this will win elections?

While people still are still hungover from a Republican Induced recession, they have nothing but oppression of women to offer!

State officials seeking $2.85M study to see whether rest areas, Ohio Turnpike could be leased

Cross posted from GD

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio officials want to know whether the state's 101 rest stops could be leased to a private operator and how much a potential deal might be worth.

A legislative panel on Monday approved the state's use of $2.85 million in federal research money to pay a consultant to evaluate privatizing the rest areas along interstates and state roadways.

Gov. John Kasich (KAY'-sik) has said leasing rest areas might be a way to address a gap in the transportation budget.
Under the contract with Austin, Texas-based KPMG Corporate Finance LLC, consultants will also explore the idea of leasing the Ohio Turnpike. The 241-mile roadway is funded through tolls and the sale of gas and food at rest stops.

He not only wants to lease the Turnpike but rest areas on the remaining interstate highways as well. Are we going to have to pay to pee on the road now?
