Except there is a long history with Republicans and ESS.

Here's former Rep Peter King (R) talking on election day 2004, when DU was a-buzz with fear for possible voting fraud by the Republicans using ES&S and other e-voting machines:

Here's an article from St. John's Law Review outlining ongoing problems with ES&S systems (among others): https://scholarship.law.stjohns.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1247&context=lawreview

This ain't new, they stole the Dominion voting machine fraud rant from us (with no evidence), but we have 16 years of reporting the ES&S machines are unsecure and subject to tampering.

That's because people think their vote can matter this time.

People usually feel disenfranchised voting Blue in a state with a long Red history. "It doesn't matter, no way this state will go Democratic." This is a chance for people to know that their vote can make a difference on a national level. That's a heady thought. Very empowering!

I bet we'll also see a big bump in newly registered 18-year-olds, voting for the first time.

She's not wrong about how the party neglected grooming younger leaders.

I don't see this as an attack, however. Stating a problem is NOT the problem. And neither is the person stating the problem.

You redistribute money to other agencies.

Most police calls aren’t things police are trained to help with, instead of ignoring or exacerbating issues. Domestic violence, Black people walking down streets minding their own business, homelessness, medical emergencies, petty theft, etc. Police are trained to handle already violent situations and are much more concerned with protecting property than people. Use a portion of police funds to hire social workers, medics, mediators. Educate yourself as to what people want when they say “Defund the police” rather than just running with your knee jerk reaction to the phrasing.

Well, I had started to hope that a coup had been averted, but now...

I do not remember this ever happening before. If it's not a coup in process, it's sabotage so the Orange Asshole or one of his demon spawn can run in 2024 on a platform of Democratic incompetence because some seed they planted sprouted into an international problem.

Alternative post title:

I’m gonna feign naïveté to shit stir the pot.

I wish to fuck Democrats as a whole were more invested in justice for BIPOC at the hands of corrupt police systems as they are about policing fellow liberals about the words they use. Whenever I hear, “defund the police is bad messaging!”, I also hear conservatives telling Black folks to be civil, or to not take a knee.

Maybe, maybe not.

There was a case in the lead up to the SCOTUS confirming gay marriage as an equal right. The United Church of Christ in NC successfully argued that making gay marriage illegal violates the 1st Amendment right to religious freedom for churches whose faith compels them marry GLBTQ couples.

"If you see some guy going from one enemy leader to another, he's an eligible target."

No, not when it's a US citizen. Because you know damn well if Barr could he would declare Democrats enemies of the State; anyone associating with Obama (the lead "enemy" ) is therefore a target. This is the logical outcome of such blanket assumptions of guilt and death sentences, especially for non-white citizens.

No extrajudicial killings of US citizens EVER!

I'm guessing you're white.

Why? First, there’s the fragility with which you responded to my message. Then I think you misunderstood my post because squishy moderates losing is exactly my point. But mostly it’s because you think it’s okay to tell traditionally oppressed people to suck it up and play nice with the barely literate, science-denying troglodytes, which is what they’ve been told for 400 years and gotten nothing in return. We’re facing literal global human annihilation between pandemics and climate change. We’ve been trying it your way and it hasn’t gone well for us. Hoping to recreate the status quo from pre-45 will recreate the same environment that gave rise to it. The time for moderation is passed.

We tried that after the Civil War & 155 years later

WE OBVIOUSLY HAVEN’T HEALED OUR RACISM!!

No forgiveness without honest repentance and reparations. We need a truth and reconciliation commission. And 45 needs to be locked up.

Barr and McConnell need prison, too, or it’s toothless for posterity.
