Artists 'have structurally different brains'
http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-26925271<snip>
The research, published in NeuroImage, suggests that an artist's talent could be innate.
But training and environmental upbringing also play crucial roles in their ability, the authors report.
As in many areas of science, the exact interplay of nature and nurture remains unclear.
Lead author Rebecca Chamberlain from KU Leuven, Belgium, said she was interested in finding out how artists saw the world differently.
"The people who are better at drawing really seem to have more developed structures in regions of the brain that control for fine motor performance and what we call procedural memory," she explained.
In their small study, researchers peered into the brains of 21 art students and compared them to 23 non-artists using a scanning method called voxel-based morphometry.
Has there ever been a campaign with as many shake ups as Don the Cons?
I am not aware of one like this

RIO DE JANEIRO It was a disaster, pure and simple. And then, a reprieve.
The U.S. women's 4x100 relay dropped the baton on the second exchange on Thursday in the qualifying heats, knocking them out of the final. However, Allyson Felix said she was bumped by a Brazilian runner right before she got to the zone, and replays confirmed. Brazil was disqualified, and a U.S. appeal was upheld.
But the Americans can't simply be advanced to the final on the eight-lane Rio track, so there will be a surreal scenario on Thursday night the USA's 4x100 relay running alone in a time trial at 7 p,m. in Rio (6 ET). The USA will have to run faster that 42.70, which would replace eighth-place qualifier China.
Initially it was suggested that there might be a second run-off between China and Canada, who both clocked 42.70, but the IAAF took the time out to the thousandths, which places Canada seventh.
China appealed the USA's reinstatement, but it was denied.

For the past 15 months, Donald Trump has been inescapable on TV and online. After so much exposure to the GOP presidential nominee, his speech and tweet patterns have become ingrained in Americas collective subconscious. The country has also been bombarded by his narcissism, grandiosity, school-yard put-downs, racism, and obsession with the size of his hands. So to get back at Trump, Twitter users have been mocking his speech patterns and psychological foibles with one of the funniest hashtags in Twitter history: #TrumpExplainsMoviePlots.
