Games People Play...

You remember that book of the 70's, I'm Okay, You're Okay ?

If not, pick up a copy at the library for a read. In it is an explanation of P - A - C (which is the parent, adult and child roles everyone plays) It's interesting in describing how some people get their kicks by provoking from the "parent" or the "child" a learned expectation, which causes endless argument for argument's sake. These seem to be learned routines that people use JUST to piss each other off. You see it in families everywhere. I'll make example on how it's used on DU…

1) Some awful thing happened, and this innocent person was made to pay the price.

1-a) Oh! Whatever will that innocent person do to recover (insert smile or laugh)

1-a.1) That's a horrible way to see it and devoid of empathy. Here's an example of why (….)

1-a.1-1) How cute you are (smile or hug)

1-a.2) You can't be seriously have this mind set in democratic principled thought

1-a.2-1) You don't tell me what to do. I don't listen to you. Here's a post where I didn't listen the first time (…)

The idea is that sometimes it's so much damned fun to poke a "parental" reaction! It's so much fun being a child in control.

And, I realize that these are games people play in life, which certainly includes DU…

Ramstein Air Base …. Drone HQ

What are the implications that every single drone attack is run out of the HQ of the United States Air Forces in Europe.

Why were they hugely expanded from 2004 to 2006?

February 14, 2015

Dear Senator Casey...

Hammering away…. Please remind me if this guys DID take campaign finance from the oil and gas industry.

Thanks,

MMM

Your response to my e-mail objecting to the Keystone XL pipeline demonstrate poor understanding and advisement on your part to support your vote for it. The reasoning behind your vote consisted of jobs and an adequate safety assessment. This industry, based on your information, has a high benefit to cost ratio. I see NO information supportive of that. Adding to this is real evidence of safety to the environment impact. For example, North Dakota's recent disaster was a 4 inch diameter gathering pipeline in Willingston, ND. This pipeline, just a year after its construction burst and spilled the largest most toxic drilling brine mix which dumped 3 million gallons of toxic bring into the Missouri river. This state had no pipeline inspectors, by the way, even though jobs to inspect these pipelines were vacant.

You CANNOT afford to over-look this unregulated and unsafe industry to our health detriment, can you?

Do your homework while I busy myself seeing what part of the gas and oil industry filled your campaign coffers.

I'm totally pissed off on Casey's response (cross post from Environment and Energy)

Link: http://www.democraticunderground.com/112780960

Basically, because the XL pipeline will be good for jobs and the environmental impact is considered minimal, he votes for it. Of course, he tells me how the amendments (some which were good) which he voted for did not pass. So, I'm supposed to see how this state's D works on behalf of us in the Senate. Not good...

February 13, 2015

How do you DEAL with US Senators who vote for the XL based on this reasoning?

The reasons seem to be, "More Jobs! … Not so bad environmental impact!

PA has Pat Toomey ® and Bob Casey (D). I'm pretty shocked that in response to my concerns about the XL, I get THIS response fro Bob Casey -

Dear Mrs. _________:

Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding the proposed Keystone XL pipeline. I appreciate hearing from you about this issue.

The TransCanada Corporation, a Canadian company, has proposed a plan to build a pipeline to carry crude oil extracted from tar sands in Alberta, Canada to refineries in Texas. If approved, the Keystone XL pipeline would double the capacity of an existing pipeline and would transport more than 830,000 barrels per day of crude oil. Because the pipeline would cross the Canadian-U.S. border, construction requires a Presidential Permit.

On January 29, 2015, I voted in support of S. 1, legislation authorizing the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline, introduced in the U.S. Senate by Senator John Hoeven of North Dakota. The bill passed by a vote of 62-36. Having passed the Senate, this legislation was sent to the House of Representatives, where it passed on February 11, 2015 by a vote of 270-152. It will be sent to the President, who is expected to veto it. I voted for the bill out my belief that the pipeline will create jobs, promote economic development and increase energy security.

While I recognize that there are individuals who have significant concerns about the environmental impacts of the pipeline, the State Department Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Keystone XL pipeline stated that the pipeline would support increased employment and provide benefits to the economy. Similarly, the State Department Final Environmental Impact Statement also assessed the potential impacts of the pipeline on the human and natural environment. The EIS determined that the incremental, or “net,” life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions are expected to be about 0.02%-0.45% of U.S. annual greenhouse gas emissions.

Prior to final passage of the bill, the Senate considered a number of amendments to the bill, ultimately passing six of them, each with my support: the Cornyn Amendment 126 to ensure private property is protected, the Murkowski Amendment 123 to express the sense of the Senate that all forms of petroleum should be subject to excise tax for the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund, the Whitehouse Amendment 29 expressing the sense of the Senate that climate change is real, the Portman Amendment 3 to promote energy efficiency, the Collins Amendment 35 regarding energy retrofitting assistance to schools and the Barrasso Amendment 245 to clarify that consultation with Indian tribes remain in effect. In addition, there were other amendments that did not receive the necessary votes to pass, though I supported them, such as the Schatz Amendment 58 to express the sense of Congress that climate change is real and caused by human activity and the Gillibrand Amendment 48 which would have closed an exemption for hydraulic fracturing currently in the Safe Drinking Water Act. I also heard from a number of Pennsylvanians regarding the Coats Amendment 66, related to regulations on mining. However, this amendment did not come up for a vote.

I understand that Pennsylvanians on both sides of this issue have deeply held convictions. Whatever my own views on the matter, as your U.S. Senator, I appreciate the benefit of your input and will keep your thoughts in mind as I continue to monitor this issue closely.

As always, I appreciate your views, thoughts and concerns as they assist me in understanding what is important to the people of Pennsylvania. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future about this or any other matter of importance to you.

For more information on this or other issues, I encourage you to visit my website, http://casey.senate.gov. I hope you will find this online office a comprehensive resource to stay up-to-date on my work in Washington, request assistance from my office or share with me your thoughts on the issues that matter most to you and to Pennsylvania.

Sincerely,
Bob Casey
United States Senator

A 50th Anniversary Few Remember: LBJ’s Warning on Carbon Dioxide

Fifty years ago this month President Johnson voiced concern over invisible fossil fuel emissions in a special message to Congress. It was the first time a U.S. president warned the nation about greenhouse gases and global warming.

TRIBUTE TO JEFF JAWER and FEBRUARY FORECAST with Rick Levine...

I've been a big follower of Star IQ, which has all things astrology, for years. Two astrologers who I've particularly enjoyed learning from are Jeff Jawer and Rick Levine. In fact, when I knew Jeff's readings were going to increase after the first of this year, I got a reading from him looking into this new year.

Then, to my absolute sadness, I found out that Jeff learned he had stage IV lung cancer. He is in hospice, and after the initial shock of that, he and his family are seeing him through to what I can only refer as the shedding of his mortal coil.

I cried through the first part of February's forecast (I tune in to see monthly forecasts of certain astrologers, chief among them, these guys.) Even though at the time this forecast, this Wednesday evening, Jeff was still with us, I want to share this very special February forecast with the ASAHG. Jeff wasn't asking for healing. He understands far better than I do. Perhaps that is behind my emotions, which are very much on the surface.

Peaceful journey, Jeff, and thank you, Rick for your February forecast…
