Sore losers: Teapublicans

", showing that there are lots of sore losers in America. In this one picture, we see Teabaggers (who lost in 2012, big time), Confederates (who lost the Civil War, big time) and “Republicans”(who lost in 2012, big time). None of these people can comprehend the fact that they got their heads handed to them on a platter. All of them are convinced that they should have won, and none of them understand that they did not.

And who “led” this motley assembly that was supposed to represent our veterans? Who was in charge of a load of yahoos waving Confederate Flags at a black man in the White House? Why, two teabgging politicos (Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz), and a child-molesting nutjob (Larry Klayman), none of whom ever served in combat.

News flash: The South lost the Civil War. Teabaggers lost the last few elections. Republicans lost the last few elections. All the sore losers need to accept reality and move on. Instead of threatening the life of the President and trying to overthrow the government."

A simple way YOU can fix Congress: Vote in Primary Elections

"Like any media campaign that relies on ever-increasing hype, the Repubs are forever ramping up the level of crazy in order to appease the teeny tiny but very vocal “base” of their party. If they don’t, they’ll lose the next primary, lose the next election, lose their cushy government jobs, and have to return to the real world and have to earn an honest living. Such a prospect is anathema to any elected official, and terrifying to boot.

The only way to break this cycle of ever-increasing insanity is for sensible, normal, rational Americans to vote in primary elections. Even if you’re not a party member, you can pick the one that is closest to you and vote for the sensible grownup who is running for a particular office, and by so doing kick the crazy wingnut candidate to the curb. It’s simple, takes less than an hour, and solves the root cause of DC’s problems.

Simple, easy, cheap, not a hardship, solves the problem. How often can you literally say you helped save the country in such a manner? If enough of us do this, we can end partisan gridlock, stop all these phony-baloney crises, and have a Congress that truly represents the majority of Americans. Because right now, it represents a minority

As far as the "this goes for both sides" meme: not in this case. The Left has been so marginalized that there really aren't any extreme leftist officeholders in DC. So we don't have to push Dems to the middle - quite the opposite, in fact. But the Repubs need pushed away from the Wingnut Abyss and back towards Reality. And that requires non-Wingnuts to vote in Primary elections.

More at the link. Forward it to your republican friends. If we can move them to the polls next Spring, we can break the gridlock in Congress. Or at least weaken it.

A cute one from across the pond

I have no skills in photo manipulation, or I'd have put Boehner's face on it.

John Boehner, your shutdown has already cost me hundreds of dollars. Many have lost far more.

This writer checks his 401(K) balance weekly, and noticed a drop in value, due to yesterday’s stock market tumble. Said tumble being entirely (and only) due to Boehner’s decision to shut down the government and stop paying America’s bills. So that carrot-faced son of a bitch has stolen several hundred dollars of my money. And I have five bucks here saying I’ll lose lots more from my retirement fund before this is over.

Many people have lost far more, of course - grieving military families are being shafted after heroic soldiers gave their lives for this country; children are losing Head Start and their parents are losing their jobs; government workers and the businesses that depend on them are losing their entire paychecks; indeed, this writer could be taking a much bigger hit. And I am grateful that I’m not, believe you me.

Gentle Reader, take some time today and over the next few weeks to look at your financial picture. Be aware of just how many of us are being hurt by the intransigence of the Teapublicans who run Congress. And remember that THEY are not being hurt by this extra-constitutional behavior - indeed, they are getting their paychecks, bennies, and even their own luxury gym and spa with no interruption. So of course they’ll shut down the government – so long as they still get theirs, they don’t give a s*** about us.

The Steubenville Rape Grand Jury has issued its first indictment.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/10/07/steubenville-rape/2939759/ William Rhinaman, an IT guy who worked for the Steubenville school system, has been charged with tampering with evidence, obstructing justice, obstructing official business and perjury. And the AG has said the “investigation continues”.

A hopeful sign. Keep your eyes peeled, folks. There’s lots of other “adults” in the town who need jailing.

If you're not buying Obamacare, stop saying you are. OK?

I have seen a fair few people (here and elsewhere) who are holding up increased employer-based health plan costs and saying that their “ACA” or “Obamacare” costs more than their “old plan". Let’s clear this up:

Number A: The only people buying “Obamacare” are those who are shopping on the exchanges. If you’re getting any other benefits due to the ACA (lifetime caps, kids on your plan till 26, etc.) but are not buying insurance from the exchanges, you are not buying Obamacare.

Letter 2: Most of us (80% or better) aren’t able to buy Obamacare. So blame any and all increases on your greedhead employer or scum-sucking insurance company, because that’s what you had before, and that’s what you still have.

While Congress wastes time and screws the economy, Obama goes ahead and gets the job done

He ordered the arrest of an al-Qaeda leader who we’ve been looking for since 1998, and we got him. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-202_162-57606209/embassy-bombings-figure-nabbed-by-delta-force-in-libya/ He also ordered an attack on another such terrorist leader: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/06/world/africa/Al-Qaeda-Suspect-Wanted-in-US-Said-to-Be-Taken-in-Libya.html?_r=0 No word yet on success or failure in that case.

Meanwhile, Congress busies itself in silly and counter-productive political theatre that serves no purpose except to pad their own bank accounts at the expense of yours and mine. You may not like Obama, but at least he’s doing his job.

And that, Gentle Reader, tells you all you need to know about the current political crisis in Dizzy City. One man works at his elected job. Hundreds of others do not. Who are you going to trust?

Bill is a fucking jackass (Obamacare allegory)

Found this on CeeeDub: http://ceedubb.com/2013/10/bill-is-a-fucking-jackass/

Best allegory ever for Repubs and the ACA. Well worth a click.

So, Imagine that the company you work for held a poll, and asked everyone if they thought it would be a good idea to put a soda machine in the break room. The poll came back, and the majority of your colleagues said “Yes”, indicating that they would like a soda machine. Some said no, but the majority said yes. So, a week later, there’s a soda machine.

Now imagine that Bill in accounting voted against the soda machine. He has a strong hatred for caffeinated soft drinks, thinks they are bad you you, whatever. He campaigns throughout the office to get the machine removed. Well, management decides “OK, we’ll ask again” and again, the majority of people say “Yes, lets keep the soda machine.”

Lying Sack of S*** of The Week: Eric Can’tor

First he cut finding for kids with cancer. Then he defunded almost the entire budget, including funding for kids with cancer. Now he blames Dems for not funding kids with cancer: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/03/house-republicans-cancer_n_4037378.html?icid=hp_politics_top_art Dafuq? Really, man, what dafuq?

Lying at that grandiose level is truly epic. Here, Ericky baby, wear your Crown O’ Polished Turds with pride. The few. The lying. The Sacks of S***.

So, NOW the "Republicans" want to "negotiate" on Obamacare? Bullshit.

No, they don’t want to negotiate it. They never have and they never will. They want to kill it, and always have: read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patient_Protection_and_Affordable_Care_Act for a refresher. Short form: “Republicans” have, since 2009, actively worked to sabotage the process, even when their own ideas (like the individual mandate) got added, and liberal ideas like single payer got removed.

The ACA passed without a single ”Republican” vote. It has survived multiple repeal efforts by unhinged Teabagging Congressional ”representatives”. It was judged Constitutional by the uber-conservative Supreme Court. It was validated again by the American people in the 2012 elections. And the Elephants are STILL trying to kill it, by shutting down the government. This is not negotiation.

No, the “Republicans” do not want to negotiate the ACA. They want to do by extra-Constitutional means what they could not accomplish within the law. They want to kill it. And that is all that the Boehner Brigade and Marching McConnells want to do.
