All hope is lost. DU gun debate shows that America isn't ready for real reform.

I'm sickened each morning as I read the latest DU posts concerning gun control, or lack thereof, in America. The level of discourse shows that it would take a miracle to move the debate into the realm of thoughtful discourse required to reduce gun violence in our poor country. More innocents will die and the 30,000 dead each year of gunshots will increase even though the Newtown massacre brought attention as never before.

I suggest a good movie showing the young Adam blowing his way into the school and shooting the 26 in full graphic horror will be the best way to keep this issue which lacks any true thoughtfulness in the news enough to get something meaningful done.

Turn the whole thing over to the emotions.

Was anyone ever arrested, fined or jailed for violation of the Assault Weapon Ban?

During its 10 year reign of terror, was a Manufacturer, importer or citizen ever in violation? What happened? Was the punishment severe?

Just wondering if anyone can remember anything about that part of the ban.

The Newtown tragedy will turn out to be related to Pharmaceuticals.

Although the gun issue will be in the spotlight for obvious reasons, America's real problem may actually be an out of control drug economy. This said, as I send in my monthly Medicare part D insurance premium payment. Part D drug coverage, you might remember, was passed by a Republican Congress without any method to pay for it.

Just sayin.

15 minutes of fame now down to 2.

Paula Broadwell, Jill Kelley and the General. Apparently shot into space and will be landing on Mars in two or three years.
Can you think of any other story dropped so quickly?

More post election vote analysis: Obama actually won by 16 Million votes!

Very interesting discussion about how the late vote counts have gone overwhelmingly to Obama even in Republican states. If those counts were indicative of the actual total differences and if the actual vote were to reflect the exit polls (Which more closely reflect the late vote counts) this guy's points are worth considering.

Interesting read:

Paul Ryan falls off edge of earth.

No mention of him anywhere. Brains of GOP missing in action? Coma?

My memory and quick review of debate shows Romney did not mention troops or vets once.

Other than denying Obama's claim that he wanted to increase military spending by 2 trillion above what the generals want, I don't think Romney once mentioned the service of our current troops or veterans. His concern about Libya just seems to be to gain political points by attacking security shortfalls and blaming them on the entire Obama administration or on whoever the charges might stick.

Obama suggested some troops and vets may be among the 47% that don't pay income taxes because of low income.

Did I miss something?

The Lying GOP Presents; Scott Brown!

The BS is thick all over the country, especially tonight in the western Massachusetts senate election debate between Senator Scott Brown and Elizabeth Warren. Scotty, taking his lead from Romney and Ryan repeats the 718 Billion Dollar lie about cuts in Medicare Benefits and then with Grover N. on his shoulder he repeats the American Crossroads claim of 18 new taxes hidden in the ACA. For those wondering about that there is always the Fact checkers:
