Sorry I couldn't post the picture. She wasn't pleased the camera found her I think...

Ann Romney’s time at Fiandaca gives a new meaning to ‘secret service’

Yes, that was First Lady hopeful Ann Romney on Worth Avenue Saturday, looking very Palm Beach-y in her hot pink tunic and jeans with her shoulder-length blond hair. The only thing missing was the Helga Wagner necklace.

Mitt’s missus spent four hours with Alfred Fiandaca, her old pal from Boston who closed the store for her so she could shop in peace without any worries about paparazzi grabbing a shot of her in the fitting room. Trying on a little something to wear to tonight’s big dinner at Darlene and Jerry Jordan’s house, perhaps? When they’re paying 50k a couple, a lady wants to look good.

The private shopping went well for the wife of the presumptive candidate — c’mon, like that’s not a given by now — but for the customers who had “Stop by Alfred’s” at the top of their Saturday to-do list, well, not so much. They had to wait. Some did, patiently and quietly. Others did, not so patiently and not so quietly.

Finally, Ann strolled out, shopping bags in hand, smiled at the small crowd gathered on the sidewalk, climbed into the big black car waiting at the curb, and drove off.

Christie’s Office Reveals Taxpayers’ Tab For Governor’s Israel Trip

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s trip to the Middle East this month cost taxpayers $39,871 for security, according to his office.

The office released costs to The Associated Press for state troopers to be in Israel and Jordan with Christie, his family and 13 delegates he invited.

Other portions of the trip were funded by two privately funded groups, and the governor’s office declined to provide some of those costs. The groups are not required to disclose such figures.

Choose NJ, the economic development entity founded by the Christie administration and funded by corporate donations, paid $36,246 for six government staffers to accompany Christie.

Obama says Air Force One travel is ‘not my choice' in sharp exchange

President Barack Obama on Thursday firmly rejected any criticism that his worldwide travel on Air Force One or his family's vacations have left him out of touch with Americans' struggles, saying flying aboard the famed official plane is "not my choice."

"The fact of the matter is, I think if you look at my track record, I'm raising a family here. When we travel, we got to travel through Secret Service, and Air Force One, that's not my choice. I think most folks understand how hard I work and how hard this administration is working on behalf of the American people," Obama told KMOV of St Louis. The interview was one of four sessions the White House arranged with local TV in states expected to be battlegrounds in November.

KMOV reporter Larry Conners had told Obama that some of the station's viewers "are complaining, they get frustrated, even angered, when they see the first family jetting around, different vacations and so forth, sometimes maybe, they think, under color of state business and that you're out of touch, that you don't really know what they're experiencing right now."

"Well, I don't know how many viewers you're talking about that say that," Obama countered. "We do hear from some," replied Conners. "I hear from all kinds of viewers about everything," Obama shot back. "I'm sure you do," said Conners.

I think Fox and Hannity are looking for a huge ratings boost, Hannity not saying anything

right now but possibly during his show tonight. It will all come out what his conversation with GZ was about, I hate to think Faux and Sean will reap such a ratings bonanza with the GZ conversation. Of course, maybe Sean will not say anything at all to anyone and just keep dragging the suspense on indefinitely. Time will tell.

When GZ is caught, and he will be, he will go straight to jail. I'm sure there were warnings

from all directions to him and he didn't heed them. If he's in another country, he will be arrested and be sent to directly to jail. SYG won't help him with this latest development. GZ doesn't strike me as very smart, hiding is difficult and takes some smart cunning to successfully pull off. I'm hoping anyway.

Has anyone read "Roberts' Gemstone Files?" I got there quite by accident, started to

read parts and am addicted. Joe Kennedy, Ari Onassis, Capone, Lucky Luciano, the whole thing and how they were connected. Some great stuff about the JFK assassination, etc. I think I'll find out if it's an actual book so I can read it easier. Much on J. Edgar also. Has anyone read this? Very lengthy. I read what i did on Google, typed in roberts gemstone files and was given a lot of links...

When there are racists and bigots in your family...

I received an e-mail this morning from my uncle, my dad's youngest brother, a year older than myself. He's ultra conservative, Catholic, thought Bush and Reagan were great, you get the picture. I've chastised him numerous times about sending me the racist crap the cons love to send each other and today was the last straw. He sent an e-mail disguised as a joke about a welfare recipient that was disgusting. I then sent back the stat that there are more white people than black recipients receiving welfare with the message as to how typically republican he was with the racism and bigotry and told him he should be ashamed of himself. He sent this thing with the subject being "No Comment." I told him he was a coward and by his no comment, condoning such crap

He then retorted with "Perhaps you should do a reach-around and pull that hair out of your ass." I have removed his name from both of my e-mail accounts. He was the last person in that part of the family I had any contact with, all of them Rush-loving, uber cons and knocking each other down to get into church. I feel sort of/only a little badly about this but enough is enough. He's used to never being contradicted and is the "star" of the family. I'm now going to my new black sheep quarters feeling less burdened. If you don't stand up to this then you're condoning it.
