Published 9:33 am EDT, June 6, 2016 Updated 9:33 am EDT, June 6, 2016 By Brendan Morrow
New Mexico will hold its presidential primary on Tuesday, the same day primaries are held in California, New Jersey, Montana and South Dakota.
Thus far, the state appears to be a lock for Hillary Clinton. The democratic candidate holds an impressive lead in polls, and the fact that the state is a closed primary works in her favor. This means that only those who are registered as Democrats may vote on Tuesday, and in the past Bernie Sanders has generally lost many Independent votes during these closed systems. Clinton is also ahead with Hispanic, a group that makes up a significant percentage of New Mexicos voters.

Hillary Clinton Will Claim a Historic Victory Tuesday Night—and the Media Should Cover It That Way
But Sanders and his voters deserve time to think about their next steps, too.By Joan WalshTwitterTODAY 12:52 PM
Hillary Clinton needs just 24 more delegates to clinch the Democratic nomination, when the total of delegates shes won in primaries and caucuses are combined with her superdelegate supporters. Assuming she wins New Jersey on Tuesday nightand she is leading there 64-36 in the latest pollsshe will get them, hours before the polls close in California, where she and Senator Bernie Sanders are still locked in a tight race.
She will win the nomination Tuesday night, no matter what the Sanders campaign says about superdelegates (more on that in a minute.) She will become the first woman major-party nominee for the presidency, and she should claim that victory for herself, and for the tens of millions of women who support her. And the media should cover it as the historic event that it is.

Harry Reid Is Quietly Laying The Groundwork For Elizabeth Warren To Be Vice President
BY IAN MILLHISER JUN 6, 2016 8:00 AM
There are several good reasons why presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton might want to choose Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) as her running mate.
Warren is a forceful critic of Republican candidate Donald Trump. As the architect of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Warren helps insulate Clinton from charges that she is too close to Wall Street. And Warren is popular with many liberal Democrats that Clinton may want to build bridges towards in the wake of a bruising primary against Sen. Bernie Sanders.

By JULIE HIRSCHFELD DAVIS and MICHAEL D. SHEARJUNE 6, 2016
WASHINGTON President Obama, after months of sitting on the sidelines of the rancorous contest to succeed him, is now ready to aggressively campaign for Hillary Clinton, starting with a formal endorsement of her candidacy as early as this week.
The White House is in active conversations with Mrs. Clintons campaign about how and where the president would be useful to her, according to senior aides to Mr. Obama.
