Joe Scarborough just claimed that Trump is a Democrat.

He was discussing the fact that everyone at the table was a registered Republican and that he, himself, never voted for a Democrat. Then he stated that Trump is a Democrat, so his record remains.

Is this a common sentiment among Republicans?

Why should a 62-year-old man have to pay for maternity care?

Source: Mashable

U.S. Rep. Rod Blum, R-Iowa, asked the worst hypothetical question about women's health care at a town hall in Iowa last week, but he got the best response for the ignorant statement — and it's going viral.

Blum asked at a Dubuque, Iowa, town hall, "Why should a 62-year-old man have to pay for maternity care?" If you didn't know, Blum just turned 62 last month and identifies as a man.

Barbara Rank, one of his constituents in the audience, had some thoughts stemming from this question and let her local newspaper know. In the Telegraph Herald on Friday she wrote, "I ask, why should I pay for a bridge I don’t cross, a sidewalk I don’t walk on, a library book I don’t read?"

Stevie Nicks Shows Us How to Kick Ass in High-Heeled Boots in a 1983 Womens Self Defense Manual

Source: Open Culture

Yesterday, on Twitter, Priscilla Page reminded us of the time when “Stevie Nicks showed us how to kick ass in high-heeled boots in her bodyguard’s self-defense book,” calling our attention to the little-known 1983 book, Hands Off!: A Unique New System of Self Defence Against Assault for the Women of Today.

The book itself was written by Bob Jones, an Australian martial arts instructor who doubled as a security guard for Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Joe Cocker and other stars. And it featured what Jones called “mnemonic movements”–essentially a series of nine subconscious/reflexive self-defense moves (like a swift knee to the groin). See Jones’ website for a more complete explanation of the exercise routine that also provided, he notes, a great cardio workout.

Stevie Nicks agreed to take part in a photoshoot where she would help demonstrate the nine mnemonic movements. Jones recalls,” This lady was a professional: in two hours I had a hundred of the most magnificent photos ever offered to the martial arts, and just one would make the cover [above].”

“On this day of the shoot I was standing in my martial arts training uniform, wearing my Black Belt. Then Stevie appeared, her hair done to resemble the mane of a lion. She was psyched up for some serious photographing. Stevie wore her familiar thick-soled, thick-heeled, knee-high brown suede kid leather boots. High roll-over socks appeared over the top of these elegant Swedish boots and hung tentatively around her knees.” “In these kicking-style photographs the sun also made her dress partially see-through: just enough to be artistically interesting.”

DNC Chair Perez: Voter fraud probe a 'Trump-sponsored propaganda factory'

Source: The Hill

Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez blasted President Trump’s signing of an executive order to create an “election integrity” commission, calling it a “Trump-sponsored propaganda factory.”

“Donald Trump shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the word ‘integrity,’” Perez said in a statement. “This commission is nothing but a Trump-sponsored propaganda factory for justifying the GOP’s broader voter suppression efforts and nursing the president’s wounded ego after the lost the popular vote.”

Trump signed an executive order Wednesday establishing a commission tasked with reviewing Trump’s allegations that millions of people voted illegally in the 2016 election.

...

“Republicans like Kris Kobach, who Trump hand-picked to run this charade, have spent years lying about voter fraud in order to keep African American and Latino voters from the polls,” Perez said.

Not to mention the fact that Ken Blackwell is on the commission.

https://detroit.curbed.com/2017/5/5/15560470/qline-streetcar-m1rail-price-hours

I am excited to take the trek into the D to experience the Q-Line. The rates are really, really reasonable: "$1.50— Walk-up rate. It’s good for three hours. Riders can get on and off the QLINE as many times as they want in that three-hour period."
